So... last thoughts on "fixing" the leagues? For one thing I think too many are not understanding the difference between REAL football leagues and GLB leagues. For one, GLB is much more aligned with how Soccer leagues run than how the NFL runs (or college or highschool). Here we move up... we move down. In RL we don't. In Soccer they do and it'd be smart to adapt that style of 'team movement' for here.
Premiere Leagues = 2 leagues... 8 teams in each league. Bottom 4 teams get relegated... replaced by....
1st Division = 2 Leagues mimimum. Could be expanded if needed. Top 8 teams, including Champions and runner ups, replace those above. You can use records or EL's or whatever else you want to determine who moves up and who stays down. As for the bottom teams it depends on number of leagues. If only 2 then lowest 8 would move down. If 4 then lowest 8-16 would move down depending on how many leagues were below that.
All other leagues would remain as is, moving up as teams grow.
I mean the bottom line I think everyone is shooting for is turnover at the top but not at the expense of those teams that worked their asses off to get all the way TO the top. You wanna be the best, beat the best. But there should still be opportunities for all so some turnover should happen every single season.
That's my take. It might not be popular but I think it's smart and solves plenty of these silly arguments. IMHO.
