Just a little FYI, using Bluesman's example - all MM dots were either 'normal' built or 'slow' built, we never popped off boosts at the start of a season, outside the final one - and then only if all ALG stats were done.
We had 20 dots that took the 5 initial boosts. We had 15 that took 3 initial boosts. We had 15 that took none of the initial ones. Just to see how the old build plans looked on each.
Wilfork was a 5 initial boost dot, he boosted somewhere ~D36-D40 most seasons, if we didn't win the first round w/o boosts, we waited til D40. The final season I think he took five 'lolearly' since he was working non-ALG stats (jump).
The gains on the 0/3 initial boost dots were 'moderate' at best. If we want to compare apples to apples Edelman (5 initial) and Outrun (3 initial) were only 3 SP apart at the end.
Reasoning for them ending nearly a wash? The extra intense pounding at the start of a 0 or 3 boost dot's life, you pay for at the end in terms of bonus tokens burned, eating away from the available days of quad training before hitting light trains. Outrun gained 1 more primary than Edelman by waiting, but lost out on almost an equal amount of SP value in the other stats. Edelman did also get lucky as hell in the shop, not sure how Outrun fared there.
As people experiment, I feel like the 0/3/5 initial boost builds will get further refined, and maybe that gap will grow on the 0 initial ones. I'm just happy despite a few build hiccups in this first cycle, we managed to break the 1500 barrier, something we never sniffed in the old system, I think our highest came in right around the 1460 mark.
Looking at your dots is telling me we gotta definitely tweak our build plan. You guys are awesome.
