Just make all the leagues 8 teams. 4+4. Cut down on the need to have sub par teams in each league to begin with.

If each team plays the other 3 in it's division 3 times that's 9 games. That gives a clear tie breaker.

Then mix in 2 games with the other division of 4 teams, that's 8 more games for a full 17 week season.

Top 3 teams are in the playoffs, with the #1 getting a bye.

Fixes everything without changing the current season length.

You just went to war with Mauler Group before the apocalypse because they were able to manipulate the playoff system in WL with an 8 team format. What makes you think they won't do it when there are only 6 spots to go around? I'll say this in my nicest Michael Irvin voice.. "C'MON MAN!" Since I love you, I'm gonna give you the chance to pick which agents you think deserve a spot in the playoff equation every season, with this change we would have room for 2. The rest don't even deserve a chance to upset someone in Round 1.

Pick 4: zzman, Kenshitzen, ewinter, pooperdog, playmakers, GroupOh, Gambler, Smitty, ME?!?, probably missing a handful of other quality owners that help make up the second tier of teams that are keeping this game alive for now.

Edit - I'll let you pick 4 because there are only 4 teams demoting from WL into 2 leagues, so my math was off.

you guys said the same thing when I said Cane would take over Hood, SWAT dominance. I already picked I picked Marauders and KC. it's just my opinion don't take it as gospel like you guys say the big 3 are so far ahead.

Pwned, I honestly thing your opinion here is influenced by PTSD from when the woodpeckers went 0-16 in WL with the two of us coordinating.

No matter what we do (how many leagues, how many playoff teams, etc) the cream will inevitably rise to the top, and no one on that list (which should include myself) will get their first WL championship without earning it.

And fwiw, most of the time the 7th and 8th WL playoff team has been one of the RC or Mauler teams historically.

With Mauler's passing, and the complete restart of dots/teams, I do think some new faces will show some spark. For example the SnoCats are an independent team that'll earn it's way to WL next season.

Yes woodpeckers were fun. Im not saying you have no chance. Nobody gave Cane a chance but himself and me likely during Maulers dynasty. I do remember SWAT and Florida/Asau relied pretty heavily on recruiting for awhile. Eventually Orlando arrived as a sole Cane squad I knew they had a great shot to beat the SWAT system plus Swat skilll point was getting too sloppy for my liking. Obviously until someone beats Cane hes still the champ but I see very few teams using recruiting this crop and diversified styles of teams. I still stand by RNG factor. SWAT and Orlando were the flagship teams yet Brothers and Florida seemed to win somehow. Coordinating to a #1 seed could be a nightmare with tons of elite squads. We shall see soon

We aren't just talking about WL playoffs though! You are trying to change Pro, where I live. I've been to WL by coordinating three times over the years. Funny enough, all three were the last 3 times I brought/helped a team up the ladder. I just took a long ass hiatus in between the first two and the third. Dayton will have it's minute with or without these changes. It just takes me a lot longer to figure things out because I had to wait 8-9 seasons to see where I made mistakes in the old system. Now I only have to wait 4 seasons every time I close the gap.

people trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist

keep what we had before the crash

4 National Pro winners to WL to replace the 4 non-playoff teams

if there aren't enough teams in National Pro for 4 National Pro Leagues, then go to 2 and the 2 conference champs move up

this isn't rocket science

Red, we're already changed to 2 pro leagues...

The problem is a 15-1 #1 seed has no advantage over a 7-9 #8 seed when the playoffs happen, given homefield advantage doesn't exist. Does that not seem dumb to you? Do you think it's bad the nfl has bye weeks and instead wish they had 16 playoff teams with no bye weeks?

Since there's no advantage, no one actually fights to be the #1 seed or #2 seed since #8 seed = the same.

Currently WL regular season is 100% binary, make playoffs = success, miss = failure.

With the proposed in OP, you have make playoffs with bye, make playoffs, stay in WL, and demote as 4 possible results of regular season record. Surely you understand that adds importance/effort/fun to the regular season (in WL as well as lower leagues).

the WL regular season already means a lot - there isn't a need to change shit just because you are bored and are trying to entertain yourself

I didn't say the WL regular season doesn't mean a lot. I said that it's binary (pass/fail).

Imagine in college you take a class pass/fail. Do you try to get an A jn that class? No you try to get a grade good enough to pass only. That is the current playoff system.

And in lower leagues with a couple bad teams it's even worse since you auto get into playoffs, creating a boring useless regular season where no one tries for 32/40 days, making the game so insanely unfun...

LOL?

I couldn't care less about the lolz stadium system, but the idea that we need to have a less interesting regular season so top teams can get more $$ hoarding in the minors is in no way a useful counter point...

With that said, could easily give bye week teems a cash bonus to make up for the missed home game, if that is important.

Will this be too much work? Try this out next season.
