Received the message via discord today and am shocked and saddened to hear this.
My condolences go out to the whole family and friends and may he rest in piece without anymore pain to endure.

He had one of the most precise Offense with effective pass/run selection in GLB and was a pain in the butt OC to stop for DCs. Simply speaks about the quality of OC he was at the top level.

We had our GLB differences, but you mostly need that to push each other at the top level or to stay motivated while playing this game. I appreciate the competitiveness, greatness and motivation he always embodied together with his tagteam partner Steve during the SWAT, BiA, TSPAI runs. It certainly motivated me and other coordinators to surpass that success.

If i could rename something, it would be SBB TE Clearout or SB TE Cross with his GLB name reference. He ran both plays to perfection as I always referred to them as "the Mauler passes'.

Being away from the game since this game crashed, this event simply underlines the importance to cherish every minute you have with your family, friends etc. Enjoy the partnership you have and built up during playing this game.

Stay healthy, stay happy and God bless.
Take care guys

very well said. our defensive builds were all built specifically for his offense. his scat build was no joke either

Damn, I can't believe that. I am saddened to see his passing. That TE clearout was no joke, when I would finally have some success against it he would just screen me to death. Definitely one of the greats. Just realized I play SWAT tomorrow, what a sad day.

I am so sorry to hear this news. John and I worked together as part of the Agency network and even after he left Agency we would keep in touch and talk about things a couple of times a season. He will be missed.

I talked to him alot and was aware that his health was failing. John didnt like that nor the fact that his time on here was becoming harder to manage in RL.
Easy to say lots of things about Mauler (who was in reality just a part of John the person) and he will remain a part of GLB until the time comes when the actual game dies

As for John the person?

John was a veteran and from one to another I thank him for his service and salute as he stands easy and takes his place in the place he and I knew he was going to

I thank you for your Faith John and helping me with mine at times. Mauler taught me alot but you taught me so much more

I felt so sad when I found out several days ago. I will genuinely miss John!

John was someone I honestly considered a friend. We always shot straight with each other, even with what others might take offense to. Neither of us ever got remotely butt hurt, even when our talks were blunt and not always agreeable. There was understanding acknowledgement in the differences and consideration to learning and expanding our knowledge. The talk was transparent and men don't take disagreements to heart in a girlish way, but rather as an honest exchange. Whether contrasting or agreeing, it was being real.

I met John through a GLBer named jlrock, who had the original SWAT team; they were Razorback Nation many moons ago, of which Steve was the DC if I recall correctly. Mauler was with DISA and we also played together on their teams as well.

Strangely Jon (jlrock) also passed away prematurely, thus John (Mauler) took over. jlrock introduced us when John was working with DISA. We quickly became friends and he asked me to feed him QB's, PHB's, and Int CB's per jlrock's suggestion. So glad I did as we won around 15 or so overall WL titles!

There are a number of people I would love to meet in RL from this game, and many others are fun enough as online acquaintances. John was one I definitely would have wanted to meet with in person. We talked countless times online and a number of times over the phone. It turns out we had an awful lot in common. Not only in terms of RL values and preferences, but also build philosophy in the GLB world. There was a mutual respect and special treatment developed over time.

Sorry for the wall of text. In the end, all that matters is a relationship with Jesus and receiving His saving grace. He alone is worthy of all Praise and Glory!!!

RIP to a true legend of the game

if i might make a suggestion to bort, when thinking of names for the upcoming pro leagues, it might be nice to name them after people that changed the game, one of them being Mauler

RIP John, I am going to miss you a ton. Thanks for all the help and for making my players look good. Hope to see you in paradise
so I can get you to learn to play ActionPC Football, like we discussed. It's a blast and I know you would love playing and competing
against a bunch of us.

I pray in the name of Jesus for peace and ever lasting fond memories to his family and friends.
