In case you missed it

Aug 5, 2023
- Fixed sort order on equipment page to be more consistent with corresponding player outline image positions
- Player plateau length increased to 7 seasons from 5
- Bonus Tokens now listed on quick training editor
- Offense Pass Play Creator added for testing/feedback (cannot currently be used in games). Only available via user-owned (not team) tactics page.

Need to add the ability to allow the BTE to block instead of run a route. And possibly the FB also?

How are we to test them if we can't try them in games?

Even as is I believe it will breathe new life into the passing game. This past season I went almost 100% pass just to break the monotony. I proved I could be a very average team even though i out leveled most other teams. Although that could be due to my ineptness more so than anything.

My first look at it is that its a bit confusing, I'm guessing it's because it was thrown together so he could get input on how its functionality might be ?


Like the combination of routes into 2 doesn't make a lot of sense to me, I'd like to be able to choose a slant or an in/out or whatever, they aren't the same route at all.

Also, I'd like to know how the "play distance" exactly would effect the play (to whatever detail he'd be willing to explain it)

And setting the depth of each route either by pulldown of "short/med/long" at the bare minimum would be nice, obviously depth choices are going to be difficult to add based on redzone/goalline shrinking it down, but id like to be able to choose between a deep in and a 5 yard in, without it being decided purely by "play distance" since obviously id like some short and some long routes on some plays.

Looks like an awesome update, i was already planning on coming back to the game this season, but now im even excited for it.

I'm also interested in knowing whether the "Target Distance" drop-down box affects or influences the QB's targeting/throwing behavior, independently of the checkdown order in the next set of boxes. But to your second point, each route does have a drop-down box with choices for depth of the route already, I'm sure you've found that already if you're still messing with it.

The target distance is the distance the QB would prefer the receiver to reach before throwing the ball, and also corresponds to the short/medium/long sorting designations on the premade plays. It tends to apply mostly on streak/slant type routes that have an indeterminate distance, more than routes like hooks or drags (that have their own "break points" where the throw timing should start). I should probably add a ? hover box to help with that one.

Also, if there's any other route shapes folks would like to see added, let me know! I tried to cover most of them based on the ones in current plays, but there might be some more that I didn't think of that could be cool. Trying to avoid weird cheesy stuff, of course.

option routes? anytime Moss or Tyreek get man coverage they are going deep regardless of original play call

Appreciate this new update!

Some might complain about lack of GL plays, but I do like what I see in the alpha creator.


Not sure if there will there a desire from OCs for additional checkdown boxes on the same position - i.e. AND boxes so the QB checks the TE on 1st, 3rd, and 5th checks or the HB on the 2nd and 4th checks for isolation plays.

I know we can add those custom checkdowns when adding plays to offensive packages, but maybe it would be nice to add a 5-box default checkdown on the O-play creator.

What is the plan on how these will appear in the Scouting Tool & on replays? Will it just say Custom Play?
