Iowa thought it was point difference too. I'm not sure of the tiebreakers.

If I remember correctly, the team fewest points allowed of the teams in question, wins the tiebreaker

Playoff Seeding Tiebreakers
(Updated for Season 13)

When two or more teams have the same regular season record, seeding comes down to the following tiebreakers.

To determine the winner of a tie within a Conference the following Tiebreakers go into effect:

If there are only 2 teams tied (same record), higher seed is the winner of the head-to-head match up.

If there are more than 2 teams tied (same record), then it's based upon these factor in this order:
Number of head-to-head wins against the other tied teams with the same record.
Number of total points allowed.
Number of total points scored.
