1. The 4th Street Gang: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=134
Record: 8-1
Offensive PPG: 36.4 (1st)
Defensive PPG: 11.2 (1st)
Avg PPG Differential; +25.2 (1st)
What do you get when you combine the WL's only zone-base D with the WL's only OC who's not scared to use non-screen passes? Well apparently it's this. Personal bias aside, even with a loss to a top WL franchise in the Frenzy, 4th is tied for best record and has a whopping +12 better point differential than the #2.
2. Florida Frenzy: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=686
Record: 8-1
Offensive PPG: 28.9 (2nd)
Defensive PPG: 15.6 (2nd)
Avg PPG Differential; +13.3 (2nd)
This 2x WL champion squad has been tearing it up this year, aside from a 1 week slumber against the hood. The rest of the season they've been dominant on both defense and offense, proving once again that RC & friends haven't just been "Lucky" winning 4 of the last 5 WL championships.
3. C-Town MF’n Hood: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2071
Record: 7-2
Offensive PPG: 27.0 (4th)
Defensive PPG: 19.9 (4th)
Avg PPG Differential; +7.1 (4th)
This historic franchise has been leading the pace for Zeta all season. Their #1 rushing offense (175 yards/game on the ground) and #2 rushing defense have been their calling cards. Their upset loss to Allen Iverson’s team is a blemish though.
4. Orlando Prime Timers: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=49
Record: 6-3
Offensive PPG: 26.9 (5th)
Defensive PPG: 18.9 PPG (3rd)
Avg PPG Differential: +8.0 (3rd)
The 2x repeating world champs have been working out their mojo so far this season Surprising close losses to Jersey and Swat, but have held their own with the rest of the field. Led by their #1 pass defense giving up only 144 yards/game.
5. Brothers in Arms: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=396
Record: 5-4
Offensive PPG: 19.4 (8th)
Defensive PPG: 20.1 (5th)
Avg PPG Differential: -0.7 (6th)
It pains me to rank a Mauler/Steve team this high, but I’m giving them the benefit of a doubt based on record. I look forward to watching Mauler/Steve throw games (read: cheat) to make sure at least this one team of theirs is able to stay in WL.
6. Miami Red Hawks: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=509
Record: 4-5
Offensive PPG: 19.6 (7th)
Defensive PPG: 21.9 (7th)
Avg PPG Differential: -2.3 (7th)
The Red Hawks have been a big spotty in big losses to 4th and BiA and a few other close losses to the Cowbots and Hood. Still, Red/Tom & Co are on the inside track to make the playoffs once again
7. Asau Golden Eagles: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=483
Record: 4-5
Offensive PPG: 28.8 (3rd)
Defensive PPG: 26.8 (8th)
Avg PPG Differential: +2.0 (5th)
Last year’s silver dollar award winners are scoring with the best of them , using their #2 passing offense and #4 rushing offense. The D has looked a bit shaky though, allowing 24+ points in 7 of 9 games.
8. SWAT Team: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=5241
Record: 4-5
Offensive PPG: 16.7 (11th)
Defensive PPG: 20.4 (6th)
Avg PPG Differential: -3.7 (8th)
Stevemax likely deserves some kind of award for keeping another lackluster Mauler offense lined up for a playoff spot. My hope is the 11th rank offense continues to tank their season and they miss out on the playoffs.
9. Dallas Cowboys: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=521
Record: 3-6
Offensive PPG: 20.9 (6th)
Defensive PPG: 28 (10th)
Avg PPG Differential: -7.1 (9th)
The independently owned and operated Cowbots are our best hope of a promo team sticking at the top. With 2 remaining cross-conference games against Allen Iverson and WLE Odyssey, it’s very possibly they sit at 4-5 and the #4 seed coming out of cross-conference play. I will be rooting for these football playing robots the rest of the way!
10: Jersey Showboats: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=316
Record: 3-6
Offensive PPG: 18.4 (9th)
Defensive PPG: 32.8 (12th)
Avg PPG Differential: -14.4 (12th)
I’m still not clear if RC or winter or retired ufshowboat is their DC, but this is a team struggling worse than their record indicates with a defense resembling a fence that got blown up by an atomic bomb. I think we can all be proud that RC & friends can’t keep all 4 teams in WL, since that’d be a bit embarrassing for everyone…
11: Allen Iverson’s Team: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=588
Record: 2-7
Offensive PPG: 13.0 (12th)
Defensive PPG: 26.9 (9th)
Avg PPG Differential: -13.9 (10th)
Another world class Mauler offense is on full display. Just noting this team only passes for 112 yards/game, which is like 50% worse than BiA and SWAT’s 14th and 5th ranked passing offenses. I have to agree that this sim is an unrealistic simulation of 1920’s football (before the forward pass was invented), so we should probably blame bort…
12: Athens WLE Odyssey: https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2020
Record: 0-9
Offensive PPG: 18.3 (10th)
Defensive PPG: 32.6 (11th)
Avg PPG Differential: -14.3 (11th)
I think in another timeline (watch Loki, cool series on Disney+), Athens is in the thick of things as a playoff spot contender. We are not, however, living in that timeline. Blowout losses to 4th and Florida early in the year (our #1 and #2 teams in these rankings) makes their PPG look like garbage, but my hat is off to the best of WLE for not throwing in the towel. In 5 of their last 7 losses, they have lost by 2, 2, 4, 3, 3 points, showing a team with fight that’s just coming up a little short. I will be looking to see their luck swing back a bit and finish the season strong, but it’s almost certainly too little too late on their playoff chances.
