I made the same mistake and had 3 picks when he thought was passing to open man that wasn't open. These zone defenders are nasty, be careful.

heh, i started the zone defense as an experiment just because i was bored with man defense and wanted to try something new. i got a ton of pushback even within my own organization, even though I readily admitted that it might be awful. but it occurred to me that the people who had tried it before were looking for a magic solution to not being good DCs, where I was going into it with eyes wide open about the problems and also a bunch of experience calling WL defenses.

Sum total, i love it because it's different and it's fun and there's a lot of interesting things you can do with it, but i don't think it's necessarily better or worse than man. it definitely does some good things like the open man phenomenon, which it totally true. but you can also find holes in the zone, screen coverage has to be really purposeful, etc. etc. i'd say the biggest advantage i get from it is that you guys only see it once or twice a year so it's just a little unfamiliar. but obviously it's not like i'm shutting everyone down...you guys have figured out how to deal with it just like any other. but i do really enjoy having something different than my like 60 seasons of man defense before i switched over.

we're going to start a new farm team here in the next season or so that is going to run zone, and i'm hoping to get a bunch of interest from anyone who wants to see how it works from the inside. not that there's any big secrets or reveals, just a lot of things fitting together just right

GG Asau. Closest dotball game I've seen in nearly a decade! I can honestly say your defense makes me want to cry, so congrats on that!

We were a missed field goal away from OT, and if I didn't have some ballsy stuff in there, we wouldn't have gotten 19 points or the W.

Call out to Nex for holding you to 16 pts to net the win! Though he's kinda a bad DC who didn't even get close to 6 INT's this week. Some might say he's past his prime...
