There's going to need to be some team name cleanup. Not sure what goes on with some of these old games with all the team name changes.

Stumbling across some gems as I do this. How about this one from Season 10 SEAPL:

CLEVELAND trails by 17 with 10 minutes to play. Then they explode for a pair of 4th quarter TDs and then get the tying FG with 20 seconds remaining. They win it on the first offensive play in OT.

I don't think we started with all 8 NatPro teams in Season 1. Did we start with just 5? It appears Africa was added in Season 3. Not finding early seasons for WEPL and SAPL either. Anybody recall when they were started? They earliest I have found on those two so far is Season 5.

Assuming I have the expansion seasons correct, just missing these:

WEPL - 27, 25, 24, 23, 21, 19, 18, 16 (can't get to WEPL wikipage)
CPL - 27
SAPL - 22, 21

Apparently some of the old game links are now dead so I fear they are lost for good. Also, many teams obviously changed their names (& ownership) over the seasons. I went with the team name that appears in the boxscore. Some noted historians may known that these names changed to a more memorable team name. If you want that noted in the post, let me know.

My understanding is that the team names on the box score page are locked in stone. Those are the names of the teams AT THE MOMENT THE SIM RAN.

Which was the assumption I was working under until some of the old history threads in the league forums give team names that do not match the boxscores for the game. I assume some of these historians changed the name to reflect the franchise name when the threads were created.

Ha, ha. Once done? Those pre-30 ones are tough to decipher. The team name thing is really screwy, the boxscores don't match the info in forum posts and many dead links. And figuring out which team names go with which franchise is a whole 'nother project.

In S29 Odyssey won regional pro and promoted to EEPL in S30. Someone else won the title in EEPL in S29.

This is an example of things that are haywire. Season 29 WEPL championship game link:

That is the correct link & score but all the other data is wiped out. And the team names in the boxscore? That is their current team names, not the names they were when the game was played.
