Comets vs. Insanity:
insanity has never beaten KC...yet. They held a super late 4th quarter lead so they may have closed the gap? KC looked vulnerable early this year as Hammer knocked us around a few times and Odyssey was more than a pest.

Palookas vs. STALINGRAD
Novus has Stalingradphobia and was diagnosed correctly by Dr. Bort. i'm surprised Stalin is still around as i assumed they were a gut candidate. they are shocking the league and toying with teams. new recruits, new OC and they are 2-0 vs Palookas this year so they are the favorites? Palookas have dominated this crop so i still believe in the Blue army and their fans always get their moneys worth in dramatic games.

I told y'all. Stalingrad is for real.

Great game, Grey Army!!!

Sucks to go down here, but y'know what? Going 12-4 and then losing by 4 points to a great team in the semifinals ain't exactly a terrible season -- especially since we were on auto-pilot for two-thirds of the season while I've been dealing with the aftermath of that drunken idiot side-swiping us earlier this month. We have plenty of gold trophies, and we'll add more, so might as well let this be the season where we share.

Note to all would-be obituary writers: if your team isn't the Insanity, KC, or Stalingrad, you probably have more important things to do in GLB than writing the obituary for a team that once again had a better season than yours.

27 missed tackles for KC - ouch

KC's defense's roster is set up to stop the pass - not the run - no HHLB on the team

GG Insanity. WLE guaranteed gold

We always learn the most from an L and knew we had some potential vulnerabilities still in our process pre WL. I didn't see anything long term concerning but Insanity was the better team today.

KC obituary? lol. Get your popcorn ready for next season. The Comets are on the verge of maturing into the GOAT team if you ask me. stay tuned....

KC....Insanity.....2 great rosters and Owners ....Both have talented and workaholic Management and coaching ....

All season Ive been hugely impressed by KCs defense and had seen what red states about HHLB...but couldnt for the life of me get the run matchups and formations I wanted

The difference today was Joe Rule. Quite simply you couldnt ask for a better opening statement than what the Insanity D wrote on that 1st TD....The job still had to be done enough for me to feel not too much chest pumping but more relief its over !!!

On a personal note to Playmakers congratulations youre one tough opponent and we may have different rosters over the coming seasons but I shall look forward to butting heads again !!!!

Stalin....Palookas

Most of the above applies but added to that Ive been with Pdog for most of my time on this sim so I know first hand how hard he works to get the best for his team and agents. Im happy because I know that even though this isnt even a major Final etc etc I know that we both worked as hard as if it were. We had to.... And the reason is below which is an end of season assessment of forum banter about all run teams etc
The trouble with beating a team like Palooka is you have to get the defense right to do it. And then when you play them again have something different. Because if they find a weakness they become relentless. And you just cant get that bloody ball back !!!!

And anyone preparing last rites for Vince and the gang might want to remember that the power builds they have in bulk will really benefit from full pro EQ and SAs

Congatulations Palookas....Titles would be nice but until Natty Pro theyre only snacks on the roadside to glory. You guys have a rock solid foundation and are a formidable opponent

now that the fireworks are over I will say something about the semifinals. It's very sad that every team must play like Palookas to beat the Palookas and get the gold (Stalingrad 2/5 passes, Insanity 1/2 passes).

True.(ish)

(And in my defense hitting 3/7 passes is a pretty good completion rate for my oc/ing !!!!!!)

You can pass against Palookas as far as their pass defense and gameplanning allow (like all opponents)..But that doesnt help with ToP and possible morale loss. So the thinking is that by increasing ToP you reduce that drain and give yourself more of an overall chance. You also have more control of predicted down and distance......Youd be surprised how many OCs spend hours on 1st downs without looking at how they will end up on 2nd down and distance. So they gameplan for a scenario that they dont control

Me ? I want you to run that big old bloated lineman puff package stuff right up the gut. Send that lilly livered running heart-throb QB to the outside. We will put our lard-asses up there too and they can all have a shindig.....We will bend a little and you may get into your rythym but with some luck and opportune stops we expect to hold you to 14....Now I gotta score 17 points control ToP and not make unforced errors and Bobs your Uncle !!!!!

Chaos opened up against Palookas but in my humble opinion had they gone heavy run they may well have had enough control to win
