Warrior General Games

From what I can tell, ECE did put together a defensive gameplan for us. I'll have to ask my DC if ECE changed anything on O, but I'm willing to bet they did. My scouting between Game 16 and the playoff game showed me that ECE had also been trying out different defensive gameplans as the season went on. So, while their Owner may have gone inactive, someone on ECE's staff was at least trying to keep the lights on and stay competitive. Once they had a playoff spot wrapped up, they put a terrible defense on the field for Games 15 and 16 to try to look dead, and they ALMOST got me. Only reason I caught it is because I got paranoid a few days ago and decided to do a more thorough scouting job on them, juuuuuuust in case. Glad I did too... if we'd gone with my default offense, we might've ended up falling to them. Kudos to whoever at ECE put all this togehter... BRILLIANT bit of psych warfare, IMO, and probably their best shot at winning despite their inactive Owner. I'm all for trying to overcome adversity and stay competitive, so bravo!

As for Adriatic... protestations to the contrary, Adriatic has, indeed, been doing some gameplanning all season long. I didn't want to mention anything until their season was over, but now their season's over. I'm not saying they're in full-cares mode, but they used different defensive gameplans against different opponents as the season went on, and that's not zero-cares, not by a long-shot. So this "we're just a farm team and we don't try until the playoffs" thing is just a ruse. Whether it's an intentional strategy to lull opponents into under-estimating them, or a way of trying to save face after losing so many games by such wide scores, I don't know... I can't read minds. But I can sure take a guess.

Definitely not all that impressive in the playoffs when your team supposedly starts trying for reals. Playoff appearances so far have been two first-round blowout exits, and one season where you got lucky and hit ECE as their decline was starting to take full-effect, and then got lucky against a squad with consistent problems on offense that was ripe for an upset loss, followed by a reverting-to-the-mean blowout loss in the title game.

Adriatic's not terrible, but I'm not overestimating them again either. And if you think Adriatic's problems can all be waved away with "LOL farm team zero cares," well, good luck with that.

We didn't try this season in playoffs either. Like I said, they are busy with WL teams...Not sure why that's so hard for you to understand.

Is this your first experience playing against farm teams?

Edit: I'm not claiming to be the best team, nor even if we tried would we have won against the Kings. Clearly you saw that last season with a game plan in, they still got the best of us, but it was respectable.

Can you accept the fact that it actually CAN be waved away with the truth? You seem more concerned about it than anyone else.

Looking at the Sea Wasps roster, they are not ready to compete for a trophy if they wanted to. They had 0 cares.

Honestly, it's their team, and they can do whatever they want with it. I just found it interesting that Roc has spent so much time this season telling us all that Adriatic is in full zero-cares mode, when a few minutes watching replays shows otherwise. And once I pointed this out, his response to that has been even MORE interesting. Why does he care so much about what he says is a zero-cares team?

But I have a playoff game to plan for, so I should probably get back to that. But hey, I'm glad Roc cares so much about defending the honor of his zero-cares team.

Originally, I was interested in Adriatic for the same reason as all the other teams in this league: because I was ranking all of them. At one point, you responded to my analysis of Adriatic by telling me your team was a zero-cares farm team and I was expecting too much from Adriatic. That piqued my interest, and we had games lined up in the regular season and the Tourney, so I had reason to pay deeper attention to your team anyway, so I did... and what I saw in my scouting was not a zero-cares team. So, I held that close to the vest until Adriatic's season was done, and then posted about it last night.

So, now that I've answered your question, your turn: why do you care so much about what is supposedly a zero-cares team?

We clearly have different definitions on "zero cares." Worry about your own damn team, and just be happy there are other people here to keep you entertained. Other than that, you'd be posting by yourself.

Alright, time to figure out how to win yet another 14-10 slugfest with the Lancers...

even with 0 cares, a lot of teams have multiple AIs, especially farm teams. takes 3 seconds to swap AIs and never change plays lol.
