03) Burnside Bandits {CANADA} (7-1) (7-0 in-conference)
A convincing win over the Duckies can't be ignored, though their early loss to KC looks a little worse now that KC is a 2-loss team. Still, Burnside is looking strong, and should be able to handle the scrappy Cobden Muskrats up next.

I would like to think that our chemistry had a little to do with our game early in the season. KC is a good team though.

At least that's what I'm going to blame it on

Yeah, it's not like you lost to Nevada or something.

They've looked downright ugly at times, but y'know what? Oseberg is now one of only 3 undefeated teams left in North America, and they've played the toughest schedule of the three. Time to give Oseberg their due. Up next: an easy date with Sunday.

Do I have to start playing GLB1 again?

Maybe we have an outside shot of making the WL if we are lucky in the playoffs

So do the Palookas, apparently. I thought we'd struggle to adapt to NA Pro for a season or two, get our shit together eventually, and maybe sniff a WL chance just in time to hit Decline. I've been amazed at how easy it's been for us so far, though we still have a lot of tough games left. Still, undefeated midway through is not what I was expecting our first time in.

Hell, when the Duckies lost and I had to re-do my rankings, I went in thinking "Okay, there's no fucking way I can justify moving us up from #2 to #1, because I KNOW we are not the best team up here. Time to re-evaluate everything."

NOVUS RANKINGS - AFTER 9 GAMES

01) Oseberg Vikings {CANADA} (9-0) (8-0 in-conference)
Had an easy Sunday, but now comes Oseberg's toughest game yet: the Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies. Hide the children, because this one's gonna get wild.

02) Palm Bay Palookas {USA} (9-0) (8-0 in-conference)
Nevada gave Palm Bay a fight, but the Palookas gutted out a surprisingly tough win. They'll want to do better against Chicago for sure.

03) Burnside Bandits {CANADA} (8-1) (8-0 in-conference)
Held off Cobden's upset bid, and now faces Dallas, owners of one of the best rosters in the league. Burnside's schedule is about to get a lot tougher, but I think the Bandits are up to the challenge.

04) Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies {CANADA} (8-1) (7-1 in-conference)
Crushed BC in a nice bounce-back win, but now faces the undefeated Oseberg Vikings. If anyone can hand the Vikings their first loss, though, it's the Duckies.

05) Choppin Broccoli {USA} (8-1) (7-1 in-conference)
Same story, different game: Choppin's O continues to impress while their D continues to underwhelm. Up next is Tampa, and I'll be watching to see if the Turbulence can get their first points of the season. Won't matter, of course, since Choppin will score 600, but hey, gotta find something interesting about this game, right?

06) Cincinnati Shockers {USA} (8-1) (8-0 in-conference)
Beat the Aggies in impressive fashion, but now faces an even tougher challenge from Austin. I think Cincy will prevail, but Austin is damn good… could easily go either way.

07) Austin Wineswilling Fancy Boys {USA} (9-0) (8-0 in-conference)
Austin's toughest game of the season is next: Cincinatti. We're about to find out how much that 0 in Austin's loss column really means.

08) Puffington Magic Dragons {CANADA} (8-1) (7-1 in-conference)
Puffington's easy schedule so far isn't doing them any favors, and with Sunday up next, that won't change yet. I'm ready for Puffington to start playing some real games, but they will soon enough.

09) Legacy's Runnin With The Real McCoys {CANADA} (7-2) (6-2 in-conference)
Bounced back nicely from their upset loss to Cobden with a huge win over a strong Dallas squad. The Real McCoys have most likely punched their ticket to the playoffs now, and they have a gimme up next with Drunk.

10) Dallas Paladins {CANADA} (7-2) (6-2 in-conference)
Fell hard to The Real McCoys, and continues to struggle against the top teams in the league this season. A win against Burnside next would be pretty timely, but I don't know if Dallas has it in them.

11) All The King's Royal Men {USA} (7-2) (7-1 in-conference)
Are the Royal Men back? Sure looks like it after crushing KC Metro by 46. Up next is Southern, and then things get interesting, as ATKRM's final 6 games are all against playoff contenders.

12) KC's Metro Choppers {USA} (6-3) (5-3 in-conference)
What has happened to KC? A 46-point loss to the Royal Men has me questioning everything about them. State of Franklin is up next, and suddenly a Patriots upset win doesn't look so far-fetched. KC Metro needs to turn things around right now.

13) College Station Aggies {USA} (6-3) (6-2 in-conference)
Fell to Cincy by 17. Probably safe to declare the Aggies are a playoff team and could be dangerous, but they have yet to beat anyone with a winning record this season. Up next is a hungry Orlando squad fighting for their playoff lives, so the Aggies will need to take care of business here.

14) Cobden Muskrats {CANADA} (5-4) (4-4 in-conference)
Cobden's trademark scrappiness was on display once again in a 15-point loss to a tough Burnside squad. They should be able to handle BC next, but in a tight race for the lower playoff seeds, every game is important, and BC needs this win just as badly. Cobden needs to take care of business here, and Cobden's consistency remains in question.

15) Orlando Midget Mafia {USA} (4-5) (4-4 in-conference)
Easily held off South Georgia, and their arrow continues to trend up. But they remain on the outside looking in for the playoff race. A win over College Station next would do wonders for Orlando's playoff hopes.

16) Victoria Teabaggers {CANADA} (4-5) (3-5 in-conference)
Got a much-needed win over Drunk. Up next: a crucial game with Bilderberg that will be pivotal in sorting out the playoff picture for both teams.

17) Dot Bilderberg Agency {CANADA} (4-5) (4-4 in-conference)
A 10-point win over VC has injected new life into Bilderberg's playoff hopes and given them an important tie-breaker. They can add another one with a win over Victoria next.

18) Vicious Circle {CANADA} (4-5) (3-5 in-conference)
VC's 10-point loss to Bilderberg was a crushing blow to VC's playoff chances, but they're not dead yet, with lots of winnable games left on their schedule. Up next: a gimme with El Camino.

19) State Of Franklin Patriots {USA} (6-3) (6-2 in-conference)
The Patriots have a better record than Orlando, but their schedule thus far has been a lot easier than Orlando's. If the Patriots want to hold onto their playoff ticket, a win against free-falling KC Metro next would really bolster the Patriots' claim.

20) South Georgia Growl {USA} (2-7) (1-7 in-conference)
After a big loss to Orlando, I'm ready to declare South Georgia's playoff chances dead. They have a lot of winnable games left on their schedule, but unless they also upset both Cincy and KC Metro, they'll finish at or below .500 and miss the cut. Pretty much just playing for pride at this point.

21) BC Lions {CANADA} (4-5) (3-5 in-conference)
Got shut out by the Duckies, and they'll need to get their O back on track if they want to have any sort of chance against Cobden. BC's remaining schedule is brutal, and their losses to Bilderberg, Vicious and Sunday may have already sunk their slim playoff hopes despite BC's current 4-5 record.

22) Sunday Funday {CANADA} (3-6) (2-6 in-conference)

23) Nevada Farm Boys {USA} (1-8) (1-7 in-conference)
Never say die! The Farm Boys came right out and punched the Palookas right in the face, but eventually fell. Still, nice to see some fight from Nevada, and that will help them pad their record with a few more wins as they enter the easier part of their schedule. They won't make the playoffs, but they can still have some fun.

24) Chicago Bears 85 {USA} (1-8) (1-7 in-conference)
Chicago's schedule has been brutal, but they haven't even been able to keep things interesting against any good team. If they finish with 5 wins or more, I'll be amazed.

25) The Gun Circus {CANADA} (1-8) (1-7 in-conference)
Clearly shooting blanks.

26) Hillbilly Coondogs {USA} (2-7) (1-7 in-conference)
"Maybe they'll beat the Aces next too," I said two days ago. Well, here ya go… they beat the Aces.

27) GLB Gridiron Aces {USA} (0-9) (0-8 in-conference)
"Could conceivably lose to the Hillbillies next. The Aces are that bad," I wrote two days ago. Well, here ya go… they lost to Hillbilly.

28) El Camino {CANADA} (2-7) (2-6 in-conference)
Needs to be sold off for scrap metal.

29) Southern Storm {USA} (1-8) (1-7 in-conference)
CPU-owned team, though that does give them an advantage over human-owned teams with CPU rosters: no penalty to Southern's CPU dots.

30) Drunk Masterminds {CANADA} (0-9) (0-8 in-conference)
Terrible roster. Could probably still beat Grande Torino though.

31) Grande Torino {CANADA} (0-9) (0-8 in-conference)
Just awful. Would probably beat Tampa, but it would be close.

32) Tampa Bay Turbulence {USA} (0-9) (0-8 in-conference)
Human-owned. Empty roster. No threat.
