I like to run a result/effect style offense most of the time.

First down- I want at least three yards. I run inside a lot but also plug in any outside runs that jumped out at me while scouting and threeish passes that stood out. I run inside more often than not.

Second down- Im trying to get to 3rd and less than five. Was my first down successful? Did I get three yards?

If yes then it triggers my general runs package, usually inside run heavy.

If it failed then then it triggers my pass packages.

Third down- trying to get to 4th and two.

If my second down play was successful then my inside run package fires.

If it failed the my pass packages trigger.

I change these up quite a bit but the philosophy never changes. Finding the right down and distance to fit a sim is the hard part. If a team is shutting down my runs my offense automatically changes from a run heavy offense to a pass heavy offense never completely abandoning the run. This style offense will eat up the clock.

Remember that my offense is only one of many possible offenses that can work, and like most, I have my good days and bad days. For the most part, my offense isn't one I scout for, and that's its main weakness.

The best offense is one you spend time scouting a defense for and then picking the plays that best expose the holes of that defense. Yes that takes a LOT of time & experience and you need to know defenses well to spot those holes, but in the end, that is the best offense.

I tend to be a little more aggressive on 1st downs than Osiris, but the principle is similar..try to get enough on 1st down to get to 2nd and 0-6, then to 3rd & 0-4, and then to 4th & 0-2. The trick is picking which plays get you to those goals often enough and then to not get too predictable when you reach those goals so defense totally stack the LoS against you.

I generally keep 2-4 alternate 1st down packages and AIs so I can be more aggressive on first down, it is the most forgiving down after all.

When calling plays I try to make sure there is always a reason I am calling that paticular play against that paticular team. That is really what will influence my first down package the most.

I have not made any of the adjustments OSRIS recommended yet, but appreciate any tips you may have after seeing the game.

You can PM them to me if you wish, but I would not mind if you just posted them here, maybe somebody else could learn something from what you have to say about my team.

Thanks !

Sorry didn't get back to you sooner, busy RL...

Few things I noticed...

1. Counters really seem to get you. Try not being as aggressive with out outside players. IE don't have them blitz if their coverage person isn't there.

2. Your defensive coverage cushion seems too big. I would use something like -80 or somewhere in that ballpark.

3. Play with AA as it seems to have called a lot of plays that were not working for you.

4. Looked like most of your passing plays were deep. Try incorporate more of the shorter but higher % passing plays.

You seem to have a good base of a defense, just need to tweak it. Work on stopping the big plays and not giving up as high of a completion %. Also work on increasing your ToP(time of possession) as it was very low this game. Don't go for the home run play as often, work in more shorter gain but higher % plays. They help extend drives.

I need help OP
Last night after doing ma thing, I went to sleep. About 3 am I awoke to a strange feeling. Felt like my pecker was super glued to my undies and was slowly peeling away. Was some funny pain OP. Is this normal? Whats the best defense for what was going on in the trenches?

yea the defensive plays are all carry overs from prior teams at the pro level so they don't always work so good at this level

they are set to -100 actually. cushion has been weird at many levels this season

I use AA in packages, set to very quickly. You would think after all the time I have been here on GLB I would have learned how to use AA outside of packages but I have not. I know there is another way to set AA on but just never figured it out yet, lol

Thanks for the feedback

Could have been a nocturnal emission or post ejaculate penile leakage. Depending on what "doing your thing" means. I am not OP.
