There's nothing wrong with boosting in PW. It's just considered kinda weaksauce to do it in Silver, and especially Copper. Reason being is that most of these leagues are comprised of CPUs and non-boosters. It's kind of like hiring NFL ringers to win a junior varsity game.
Reminds me of a few seasons ago when a guy boosted an entire roster for his copper team and my non-boosters whipped his ass in the league championship game. Was a tremendous waste of money. Solid builds and game planning can win PW without boosting. Hell, there have been non-boosters win PW Gold.
All in all, it's about what makes the game enjoyable for you. For me it's fun to take my non-boosters and rely 100% on skill to win.
