I know tactics change when the regular season starts but I think that a team will have to be very lucky to win Alpha with fewer than 2 losses. Places a huge importance on who pulls out a win in that week 1 inter-conference game.

So the decision of boosting early to be higher for that game or waiting until after the game so that you stay under L69 to get more XP becomes an interesting one.

Take the long view. With accelerated player development there's a lot more dotball after this season.

meh, boosting before or after game 1 will only affect games 1 and 2, everyone at Lv.68 now will be at Lv.72 after game 2.
XP stops at Lv.73 either way.

What could they do about it?

I mean which team would you suggest they pull from Pro and demote down to Regional?

yeah, it's a moot point this late, so everyone will just have to play well when they meet them-the level difference isn't going to be fun and next season it may even be worse, so strap on

We did have an invite from Fozgate of the Camels to jump up to Casual Pro where I expected us to land in the first place, but Bort put us here with the Camels and Rumrunners instead.
Those 2 were able to keep their rosters pretty much intact from S.29 and replaced some CPU teams up there, but we lost 7 of our top dots that led to our success last season and at the time the decision needed to be made it looked like we would be losing more.
We did end up having a few resign when it was too late to make the jump, recruiting to replace those lost dots with quality replacements was a bitch and at some of those positions we got younger. recruiting got better after the S.30 rollover, but at the time of the offer to move up I was not going to jump up to Casual pro and get ass whipped, maybe win 2 games and end up back here in S.31 anyways (try recruiting after the exodus of dots following a season like that).

As stated in a previous post, we were in this same situation S.28, I think the league was even tougher then as it seemed there were 4 or 5 of us teams in the conference with level 68 dots and the rest of the league was averaging lvl. 78 - 79, 2 of those lower level teams made the playoffs and we had a near miss.

Every team has to jump up to this league a bit under aged and pay their dues, it looks much better for the young teams this season than it did in S.28

6kings, the question is, did you not get promoted, or did you ask to not get promoted, because you had the fear that you will lose some quality players, which you didn't or at least not the amount you initially thought?

your statement can be read both ways imo...

Once again, doesn't really matter... Cas Pro is stacked.
One way or the other this was bound to happen, only possible way to avoid this in the future is to create an additional Cas Pro League.

Maybe a WL Casual and a National Pro Casual.

Only reason one would ask not to be promoted would be to stay and dominate the lesser teams moving up. I know with out a doubt I would not enjoy beating teams by 40-60 points every other day ! " Casual Pro where I expected us to land in the first place " <------ You would match up much better here for sure , as You have one hell of a team! either way It sucks for us and it's great for you and looks like a for sure Trophy if you stay ,lol ( Your oldest player is 375 days old 1 player at 240 days and the majority of your players at 292 days have 52 days on most teams here) But it's all good just think it's a shame to all of us that took promotion every chance we could.

i had one of the good dots on his team that abandoned him

S28 Cereal Killers got our asses kicked in regional pro so ended up in a not very competitive Regional pro conference for S29. Even though we won silver last season we were not in Regional Pro elite so it's not an automatic promotion to National pro. The team did not get promoted by Bort .

as Dahman said, even if Bort had chosen to promote Cereal Killers, look at what;s in casual pro now....one of those teams full of lvl 79 dots would have been here instead

This team could afford demotion from Cas Pro:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/roster.pl?team_id=8024

But, even though right now, they have several CPUs, if that management team is trying to make that team competitive, they will be.

Wait until S31, all of Alpha will be ready for Cas Pro but barring reboots of extra current Cas Pro teams, less than half of us will make it to Cas Pro.

Cas Pro might have its best top to bottom talent ever next season,
and there will still be several dominant Lv.79 teams left behind in Reg. Pro

For next season, dahman's suggestion for a Cas WL is not a bad idea.
