I know it is very position specific, but my goal is to build a jack of all trades get to the ball and make the tackle LBer. End build might look something like:

Spd 94
Agi 87
Vis 80
Str 76
Tck 75
Stm 61
Jmp 50
Con 50

FS 10
CD 10
SV 10
Wrap up Tackle 10
MT 12%

I get the sense that strength and tackling might be lower than many people would like. Will he actually miss a lot of tackles?

What do people think it takes to be a WL LBer?

Your numbers are low, you can go higher with a 4 AEQ build.

97 speed
90 agility
87 vision
74 strength
80 tackling
61 stamina
61 jumping
50 confidence

Same SA's, replace Wrap up tackle with Diving Tackle.

Yeah str/tak is on the low side to be in there in running situations and spd/agi is on the low side to be in there in passing situations. It's very difficult to build a LB that can do everything well at the top level.

Could you show me a build that is this strong? PM me, I won't tell.

How much str/tck is needed to stop the run in the middle? I was hoping to have just enough to stop the run inside yet still make it to the outside in time to stop the sweep plays.

Inefficiently used multi train

1 less speed
same agility
5 less vision
same strength
5 less tackling
14 more jumping
same stamina
same confidence

Could easily achieve the numbers I posted if I had known that 3 and 2 way multi-train was a waste of time, but at the time everyone was experimenting and mistakes were made. This player was created as my "free" player when archetypes came out, when GLB waived the initial flex cost of one player.

Tbh that looks more like a safety to me.. I'd probably lose some points in agi and vision and add them to STR and TCK instead. It's nearly impossible to build an LB that can cover well and stop the run well though.

OP: http://goallineblitz.com/game/roster.pl?team_id=5527 has a bunch of different WL caliber builds on display.

I was looking at Rage's build advice and see that he talks about multi-training. Is this no longer a good idea? What are the most efficient training methods?

Multi-training was NEVER a good idea from a pure mathematical perspective.... and NEVER will be as long as speed dominates the sim.... The key is figuring out what kind of niche LB you want to build (this is where 98% of dots fail). If you want a "jack of all trades LB".... your dot will be part of the 98%.

Once you decide on the niche, determine what attributes and AEQ are most important and literally "blow each one out" one attribute at a time.... make sure to invest in AEQ early rather than late.... that's the part separates the top 0.5% from the remaining 2%.

Last rule of thumb is don't marry yourself to any single AEQ... it will be nerfed... just ask all the ROLBs that put everything in "Big Sack".... Spread it out.... Max out at least 4 of them (ideally 5).... and you'll put some consistently sweet numbers.

Please DO NOT listen to this guy

you will end up with a 170 speed LB with 32 stamina that cant stay off his ass after the 1st quarter and will refuse to get back up because his 32 confidence will have him playing half that

My LBs would actually be more dominant if I multi trained correctly, and they both are top 5 in the MVP race

I have to agree, multi training IS the most effecient way to train. When u start and for how long is obviously debatable but for a general idea yes use it as long as u can.
