Western Conference PlayoffsCork City Coolmores VS. Burlington Vermonteers:
Cork City was the only team to slide through the Western Conference without a blemish.. they rank # 5 in the conference in offense but 1st in passing lead by the two horse attack of John Henry and Hesten Tarok. Their high end passing attack and their #1 ranked defense is what has carried them through the season and will carry them through the second round.
Burlington is no slouch.. their #4 ranked offense depends a lot on 3 weapons.. top rusher Roger Waterss, gunner Buster Lincecum and top WR Blind Squirrel. I just don't think Burlington has enough guns for this shootout.. their defense allows over 260 yards/game through the air and ultimately even the Blind Squirrel can't find enough nuts to keep them in the game.. St. Barts Sharks VS. Santa Muerta Reapers:
The Sharks since their loss to Cork City are averaging over 190 points/ game led by the leagues #2 passing QB Titty Tickler.. they definitely aren't afraid to throw the ball all over the place!! With the #1 ranked offense and #2 ranked defense the Sharks have looked all season to prove that they're gunning for a trophy this season.
The Reapers boast the #2 total offense and #3 total defense this season. They have 3 HBs this season that ran for over 100 yards led by Lawyers, Guns and Money with over 2,500 yards on the ground.. and to that their other HB.. umm I mean QB Johny M (he should be listed as a HB with 1900 yards rushing and 0 pass attempts this season).. they'll wear a team down and eventually put them under!
The first meeting the Reapers failed to get the offense going, lost the turnover battle and T.O.P... this one will be close.. but I still like the Sharks by 7
Eastern Conference PlayoffsThe Reddog Express VS. Why So Furious?
The Express comes into this game after statistically dominating the KBA team. They rank #1 in total offense with their ground and pound attack (two HBs over 2,500 yards rushing this season!).. so they'll look to do what they do.. control the clock and keep their defense fresh at all times.
Why So is a completely different monster.. this is like a MMA fight with a grappler vs. a striker.. This is the #1 passing offense in the conference.. why you ask... because that's what they do.. that's what they have always done and that's what they'll continue to do!! If you don't like it.. then stop them has always been the attitude!!
When they met the first time Red Returner was the difference maker.. I'm going to have to go with The Express to come out on top by 4
Roma Gladiatori VS. Black Panthers:
Roma came finished the season at 15-1... and most of that record can be attributed to one nasty defense!! They only allowed 90 points for the whole season and only 2 teams put up more then 20 against them!! A balanced offense of 38 runs/game and 35 passes/game allows them to keep teams from loading up one way or the other.
Black Panthers finished the season at 11-5 but were able to pull off the upset of the Death Squad with a 52 yard FG with 10 seconds left in the game for a 1 point win! They have the #3 ranked offense in the conference and this is a game where they're really going to need it to fire on all cylinders!!
In the first meeting the Panthers lost the turnover battle, TOP, yardage battle and STs battle.. so even though they led the game 6-0 early... they got manhandled.. I think Roma has their swords sharpened and will show up for round 3 of the playoffs with Black Panther capes on!
