Throwback's had a great playoff, and should go into next season with confidence. I for one will definitely be watching out for them.

Thanks. I been doing similar write ups for my teams in their forums since around season 14. I have gone entire seasons doing them for each and every game. Team forums just are not as active as they used to be, so I rarely do them anymore because I got to feeling so few read them that I was wasting my time.

With so many possible agents checking this forum , I figured it would be enjoyed by at least a handful of people, and it being the playoffs it narrows it down on the amount of games to cover.

I'm just glad you all enjoy them, I do like making them, and keeps me involved with what the competition does in there "big" games.

Very cool on the writeups man. Thanks for putting them up. Its always better to read these than looking at just the scripted rankings.

Season 26, National Minors Elite #1 Conference Championship Match-ups

4 teams remain, and only 2 teams will move on. Let's have a look at the upcoming games.....

Western Conference

3. Christchurch Fighting Maori (16-2)
Vs.
5. Algoma Hugo Reefers
(14-4)
Match-Up page : http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2040&team2=4653
Regular season meeting: Christchurch Fighting Maori won at Algoma Hugo Reefers 20-14

This game will be determined in the trenches. Both teams like to run, and they do it both well, and often. They also each have one of the top defenses in the league so expecting a hard fought, low scoring battle .

Christchurch's offense is led by 2 QB's with far different looks even though they both have a scrambler mentality.
QB Tautoru "The Maori Monster" Wiremu finished the regular season with a 135.7 QB rating with a near 80% completion rate, passed for nearly 3K yards and threw 39 TD's and rushing for another 11. In the playoffs he has struggled a bit, his rating dropping to 89.4 and only 1 TD, but he has not turned the ball over.

QB Brock McKinney only passes on rare occasions, but in the regular season he did complete 58% of those throws, but none for TD's. Where he excels is in the running game, in regular season he compiled 1,149 on 84 carries (13.7avg) and 30 TD's. He has come up with some big time runs in the playoffs so far , averaging 146yrds a game and 4 TD's

The Fighting Maori's also have a few other rushing options
HB Brian Griffin was their leading rusher during regular season, gaining 1,634 and 20 TD's. His playoff average yard per rush is an impressive 4.8 and he has gotten the ball into the endzone twice.

FB BIgg's other FB
gives them 2 simultaneous threats in the backfield, and if McKinney is under center, that makes a tri-fecta of rushing attacks. Bigg's other FB had a great regular season, and his playoff numbers have been just as good. In the 2 playoff games combined he has 188yrds, 3 TD's and 16 broken tackles.

On the defensive side,
All Purpose LB Nick Roach is the tackles leader in regular season, with 96. He continues to be the top team tackler again in post season play. DE Kaihautu "Big Kahuna" A'ata is constantly applying pressure on opposing QB's , makes big plays against the run, and is always trying to force a turnover. CB's Charles Tillman and Melcolm Jenkins have been their shut down corners all season, and continue to play tight coverage in the playoffs thus far. This team is not lacking depth at any defensive position, so stamina should not be an issue.

Algoma's offense is led by their 3 very distinct HB's , all of which can put a hurting on opponents on any givin play.
HB Abby Grace is their top yards gainer on the ground during regular season, powering his(her) way to 2,151yrds (7.2avg) and 30 TD's, and continues to produce in the playoffs averaging 85yrs a game and breaking 28 tackles in the 2 games.
HB Valerie Malone is the speedy, tackle avoiding rusher. He (she)accounted for 1,157 of the teams rushing yards during regular season while also chipping in with 41 receptions for 359 yrds and 25 combined TD's. Has not been used as much in the rushing game in the playoffs, but has hauled in 12 receptions for 307 yards and 2 Td's downs in just a couple of games.
HB Stu "The Scottish Sensation" Stewart II was the duel threat back in the regular season and continues to be in the playoffs, sometimes seen lining up in the FB position.

On the defensive side:
SS Ben Hitt's Lovechild lead the team in tackles during the regular season, mainly playing on Special Teams. DE Stu Maker applies pressure from the RDE position, but has yet to record a sack in the playoffs. CB Guy N'dy Ndjeng has been a monster in these playoffs, recording 7 tackles, 4 PD's, and a sack. MLB Elliot Castro has been all over the field, recording 7 tackles (one for a loss) and has forced a fumble.

Christchurch Fighting Maori enter this game with a 12 game win streak, but have had the easier path to the Conference Championship , hosting the #6 seed LEGION's Santiago Voodoo in round one, and then the surprising #7 seed Ferrara Salama & Caplaz in round 2.
Algoma Hugo Reefers have a 4 game win streak, including both underdog wins on the road in the playoffs, the first at #4 seed Oregon Ducks followed by their dominant performance against the #1 seeded Hawaiian Kings.

predicted outcome : Christchurch Fighting Maori def. Algoma Hugo Reefers 14 - 11
this writers prediction: Algoma over Christchurch 24 - 9

Eastern Conference

1. Midgard Berserkers (18-0)
Vs.
2. Miami Vice Squad (16-2)
Match-Up page : http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=6456&team2=3604
Regular season meeting: Midgard Berserkers won at Miami Vice Squad 6 -3

The classic #1 vs #2 Conference Championship match-up. Whoever walks away from this one should be the clear favorite to win Gold in the final game of the season.

Midgard's offense features 4 threats coming out of the backfield.
HB Krille © was the team's leading rusher in the regular season putting up 1,533.5yrds on the ground and 25 TD's, and in the playoffs has had some success with 139yrds and 2 TD's, but has fumbled 3 times in the 2 games
HB Serpentor is the featured back, and regular season rushing yardage was nearly 1,500 while rushing for 29 TD's. Thus far in the playoffs he has averaged 4.7yrds per carry and scored 5 TD's on the ground, but has also lost to fumbles.
HB Megatron King was a non factor rushing the ball during regular season having never rushed the ball, but was a big target in the passing game , hauling in an astonishing 165 receptions. During the 2 playoff games that same trend has continued, never rushing but catching 17 passes.
FB Yellow Man is a duel threat in the backfield, with 337yrds rushing, 164 receiving, and 6 TD's in regular season. He has been used sparingly in the playoffs , and has yet to reach the endzone.

On the defensive side:
They have 3 LB's that are absolute ball hawks. LB Starscream King led the team in tackles in regular season while also doing a great job in coverage, allowing 22 receptions on 45 man targets , deflecting 27 passes and laying monster hits on would be receivers to force 7 KL's. LB Bjorn Stone is often assigned to control the middle , had 40 tackles, 4 sacks and 3 FF in regular season. LB Mike Curtis was a sack machine in the regular season, recording 17 sacks to go along with his 40 tackles. All 3 have been a large part of the defensive success that Midgard has had in the playoffs to get them to the Conference Championship game.

Miami Vice Squad
had a descent regular season offensively using a well rounded approach
QB Clifton Clark Jr threw for 1540yrds and 9 TD's in regular season, but also 7 INT's. His yards per game are up in the playoffs, but his TD to INT ratio is at 1:1
QB Alien Bounty Hunter was near equal in passing yards and TD throws, with 1520 and 8, but kept his INT's down to just 2 in regular season. His yards per game are down from regular season, but he has yet to turn the ball over in postseason play.
HB Shiftin Gears is the team's biggest threat, when returning kicks and punts on Special Teams. In regular season play he recorded 5 kick return TD's and a 29.8 average to go along with 3 punt return TD's. In the playoffs he has returned 1/3rd of kickoffs for scores, a 45.4 avg on 9 returns, getting 3 TD's. On punt return duty he has averaged 49.3 yrds (on only 2 returns) and brought one of those two in for a score.

On the defensive side:
All purpose LB Pink Yoshi was the tackle leader in regular season, 13 of them went for a loss. He has been just as effective in the playoffs recording 7 tackles, 2 of which where for a loss. CB Shaken Not Stevens played a huge part in the secondary during the regular season, and continues to do so in the playoffs. QB's rarely throw his way due to his tight man coverage and he has recorded 10 tackles and only 7 receptions. SS Kendrick Berry is another of Miami's key defenders, regular season he compiled 47 tackles(13 for loss) forced a fumble, got an INT and a defensive TD. In the post season his play has stayed steady and in the 2 games has 9 tackles and a forced fumble.

Midgard Berserkers enter this game with a league best 33 game win streak , and playing in front of the home fans they look to increase that number. Their road here had them host the #8 seed Cambodian RiverRats , whom which they held on to defeat in a nail biter. Second round they hosted #5 seeded Exiles Throwback , and it also was a close game with both teams tied at 17 early in the 4th quarter before Midgard went on to win
Miami Vice Squad have played stellar defense in their duel post season wins, winning at home against the Verona Knights and then hosting Algoma Beach Tokers , a game that was won with stout D and awesome special teams play.
This one should come down to which team can make the biggest play, either offensively, defensively, or special teams.

predicted outcome : Midgard Berserkers def. Miami Vice Squad 17-10
this writer's prediction: Midgard def. Miami 10-7

Looking forward to see which teams come out victorious!

Good luck to the remaining teams , now go out and Kick some Ass

Urgent news Flash:

The owner of the Hawaiian Kings held a press conference today in light of the food poisoning scandal at Tsunami Stadium regarding the free nachos. He has offered free seating to the remaining home game scrimmage to all fans that where infected. He went on to say he was most remorseful that he allowed unlimited nachos to be in the home team's locker room before the game, and had he known the cheese was funk he would have instead loaded them in the visitors locker room.
