I actually agree with JD, every website/tv channel has something going for this. When I come to the WL forum on GLB it is not to grieve about 9/11 as horrible as it was and how everyone deserves to be remembered.

But rlly take it to General Discussion

Then we'll have one of these types of threads every week, since human history is unfortunately littered with such tragedies.

As proven by the countless threads that have already taken place. The whole nation is expressing their thoughts on this day. Turn on the radio..the tv. Watch a football or baseball game and see the signs of remembrance and memorial.

I ask you...is it really surprising that a thread like this will appear and that many may find value in reading it or participating in it? If you don't find value...don't read. It harms you not at all.

Alas..you are not a representative of GLB. If GLB/Bort has an issue with this thread I'm sure he will remove it. It is not YOUR place to police this.

Any thread with the title 9/11 can be easily avoided by you. Don't click. I'm sorry if you feel a bit put off by it...but it has served a greater purpose for others in their grieving. You can choose to be selfless and not detract from those expressing heartfelt thoughts.

it can also be easily avoided by not fucking posting it for the 999999999 time.

You cannot attempt to try and tell me this 10000000 thread is serving a greater purpose and anyone who objects to it is selfish and an asshole.

If you were honestly fucking grieving you wouldn't be posting about it on a football MMORPG, you would be with family members.

If you grant an exception for this thread, then what about someone who wants to remember the Madrid train bombings? Hiroshima or Nagasaki? The July 22nd massacre in Norway? There are places to discuss these events, and this isn't it.

Basically this. We can all agree that it was a horrible thing that happened that day... but it's still in the wrong place.

I'd suggest you go here: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4733499

The grieving is over with asswipe. Its about REMEMBERING. Its about showing respect, something that you were never taught growing up. Its about remembering people who gave their own lives to help others. Its about being an American..

Oh shit JD, the NFL is remembering 9/11, get on your useless rant phone and let them know that they need to move that from National television and into a separate program. Can't interfere with the games now can we...

I flew out of Philadelphia the morning of Sept 10th. Was on vacation in Jersey visiting my relatives. My parents were still in Trenton, and my youngest sister was staying at my parents home, alone, in Seattle.

I remember getting a phone call on the morning of the 11th. It was one of the girls from my office, going nuts about what was happening. At this point, I was clueless as she woke me up. I turned on the TV, and pretty much sat still and watched for about 6 hours.

My parents were able to call me, and my dad being an AF and Boeing pilot., explained what happened, then asked me to get in touch with my sister and tell her to stay out of Seattle that day (due to the strategic nature of Seattle as a target). It really hit home when he asked me to do that.

My parents could see the smoke and ash all the way in Trenton.

It was a horrible, horrible day. Lost a few friends and relatives that day.

I don't think people are forgetting what happened on 9/11, as someone mentioned before. I think to those it directly impacted, they will never forget.

But I do think people have moved on with their lives. You can only mourn for so long.

RIP all that lost their lives day.

Hey, tell everyone how you threatened to ban me if I kept posting in this thread because you didn't like me saying that it wasn't appropriate for the WL forum. Great mod you are.
