Considering LoDD has been to four straight championship games, went 34-2, won the age group tournament and only lost to BSS and that BSS went 27-4 last season & won S22's age group in the tourney and has won 3 championships in 4 seasons I'd say the gap was considerable.
To be fair there are a few teams that played those two teams close but in terms of recent success I don't think there is any question that those were the two teams to beat.
I have never really followed LoDD, but BSS was definitely the class of whatever conference it was we were in last season.
I'm not sure I'd say "huge," but the gap they had was certainly measurable.
It will be very interesting to see how things shake out now that some of the EL-heavy teams are getting more balanced and (presumably) have some AEQ in play.
