lolEastern Conference:
1v8. LU team @ ECT: League Underground team versus the best team in Elite #1. No explanation necessary. ECT wins 70-3.
4v5. PC @ AO: A repeat of the Week 16 match-up, except instead of being held at Jaguars Stadium, its at....Alpha Omega? The stadium is the same name as the team? Really? No creativity. Anyway, AO won 16-7 at PC, so I don't see PC pulling an upset here. I really liked them last season (even though they never pulled an upset when I kept predicting them to), but not so much this season. AO shuts out PC 23-0
2v7. Philly @ LA: Philly looks outmatched at it travels into Rambo Stadium (see Ancient, creative name), but they played in a 15-6 defensive battle in week 13 in LA. I really want to predict an upset here, but Philly is 21st in offense and 15th in defense compared to LA's 7th and 4th respectively. Rome did lose to Philly in the lolpreseason, but that was when Rome was passing the ball 33% of the time... LA doesn't get the safety this time and wins 13-3.
3v6. El Mano Negro @ MCC: This game will be held at The Den (see Ancient, another creative name). Anyway, I hope bruijaah has time to efficiently gameplan for this game considering the first meeting between these two teams resulted in a 9-6 MCC win. The black hands have played in some really close games, but the Week 16 loss to Western Kansas with the Free Nachos is unexplainable. I have a rule that I have to predict at least one upset, so here it is. MCC use questionable tactics and El Mano Negro reverts back to its early season form. El Mano Negro wins 17-10.
Western Conference: (where the 7 of the leagues top 8 teams reside)
1v8. RR @ RMO: RMO just beat RR in the Forum in Week 15 despite Rome giving away Nachos. Given my AO @ PC prediction, this SHOULD fall into the same category. However, RMO's 2-3 playoff record (assuming it's up to date in the Owner's Note) isn't convincing and Rome has shown the ability to knock off 1 seeds (sorry Rising). So you're telling me there's a chance? YEAH! RMO is #1 against the rush, but maybe Rome decides to "air it out" via screens. I think Rome gets a return TD that decides the game. Rome wins 16-13. You know I couldn't pick against myself. Plus, I used a Dumb and Dumber quote that has to be worth at LEAST 10 points...
4v5. NHG @ RD: RD beat the shit out of NHG in the Insane Circus Dome (Ancient) in their first meeting. While I do think RD peaked too early playing its best football in the first half of the season, NHG's only meaningful road win was against Rome and everyone knows Rome can't beat NHG. RD wins 21-10.
2v7. HK @ MN: MN lost to HK in Tsunami Field (not sure how that relates so ignore this one Ancient) in a game that they were never really in. In fact, they were down 27-10 before scoring 10 points on 2 of their last 3 possessions. However, this game is being played in Touchy and Fillie Deez Nutz Stadium (Ancient) and should provide a completely different atmosphere. Plus, I think AlaskanRaven has put a lot more effort into the team since that loss. I believe MN is ready for another deep playoff run. MN wins big 38-10.
3v6. RDW @ DK: One question surrounding this game: Will there be a power outage in The Void (Ancient) or will RDW take one from Motel 6's playbook (We'll leave the lights on for you)? RDW have one of Darkness's two conference losses. I think Darkness, who had 1 TO in the first meeting compared to 0 for RDW, revert back to their norm, which is a +14 TO differential. They win the TO battle and the game in a low scoring affair. DK wins 13-9.
