In a package I set a GL play with a custom slot TE2. Will the sim use my TE2 slot or the goalline TE slot ? (assuming both are full).

Asked Bort - he said goal line depth chart overrides the regular depth chart. If you had GL depth chart empty, it would take from TE first as the position is now officially GLTE, not TE.

Sorry being a nag.

I specifically want to know who wins TE2 or GLTE. (No TE slot it empty)

GLTE. TE2 won't even work for GL formations any more.

Go to your depth chart page.
Choose formation tag.
Put whatever custom slots for HB/FB you want.

But if you use the goaline formation tab, then it will default to that HB on every goal line run, even outside ones that you might go to an elusive back.

yeah this for sure, we need a way to distinguish between inside and outside

my question is: using packages we get an option to set depth chart slots for each package
"Package Default Depth Chart Positions (Overwrites All Plays)"

will this custom slot inside the packages do as it says and overwrite the new GLTE and GLHB slots?

This is pretty messed up. Like mightyhalo pointed out, you don't want to have to use your 2 point conversion HB on every goal line formation play.

The formation depth charts are really confusing. There should be a blank option for each. If blank is specified, the formation depth chart is ignored and the play's specified depth chart is used. This could apply for goal line plays, 2 point conversions, and everything else.

No one is saying you have to use the formation override. If you leave it at HB, you can use HB, HB1, HB2. It's only when you change it to something other then HB does it override.

I know we get to run inside GL runs on these attempts, but what HB depth chart position is used? The formation tab isn't a good option unless you add another tab for 2 point conversions.

I want my HB1 in the game in that situation but I am getting the feeling it is going to default to the HB position?

The problem is if we add HB to the GL depth chart then that HB will be used everytime a GL play is called. You're just going to have to work within the confines of the current system.

Even if the GLTE is empty?

Last season we could use the TE1/TE2 custom depth charts to get the blocking TE on the left on plays that went to the left and on the right on the plays that went to the right when wanted, will we still be able to do something like this?

Yes, even if it's empty. The goal line depth chart is the goal line depth chart. If you leave it empty, it will pull from TE. The order of placement on the GL depth chart will determine their position so you will still be able to do what you want in that regard.

It's confusing because it's almost like you are saying we went from using TE, TE1, TE2 depth chart positions from the goal line formation to only TE?

Mike was right, last season we were able to use our custom depth chart positions to ensure we had our strongest blockers on strong side runs, and the strongest on the weak side when we move the ball that direction.

Now that creativity is gone with the way it is being explained and something doesn't seem right.

But for 2 point conversions it only uses the formation dc though, right?

Still a little unclear. For GL I can set the TE order. How are the TE positions filled? There is TE Weak, TE Strong and TE far Strong. What order are those slots filled?
