Why do you have such a problem with agents being able to opt out without owner's consent up to day 41? Why such a rush to lock in players on the same day many agents begin marketing their players? This is just a tool for shitty owners to put the screws to unaware agents.

Because the LOI has to have some sort of validity.

It's totally an optional thing, there's no screws to unaware agents. Bort could even have a pop-up that reminds the user after clicking 'Sign' post-32 that they will be bound to the team with contract release only being granted with owner approval.

Apparently notices and pop ups don't help if you ask:

Agree with Dub, make the Opt out option indefinite and I am ok. It is still a nice recruiting tool. But no reason to force player hands there.

Just think of a user committing a dot to a pro team that is doing very well. Then at day 40 suddenly he find himself in a team with empty roster (opps, the owner forgot to tell that they are replacing the roster since all the got dot go to their twin team).

this thing would make it harder for halifax to troll the rest of WL, which would clearly hurt the game as a whole.

It'll be a disaster when a team doesn't get a promotion/loses a coordinator/gets demoted/loses key players/ etc. and all their "committed" agents bail for the teams with trophies. How does it tie into "team needs"?
I'd prefer a draft.
Work on some blocking/ LB zone read/sim stuff.....

Make the opt out day 41 and I'd vote it.

Edited the OP to be a little more friendly towards the opt out part of the suggestion. It's ultimately the chiefs decision, but there's no reason imo to vote down a possible solid recruiting management tool due to a optional clause.

Cool, but the agent should always be able to opt out even without owner approval, all the way through day 40. No sense getting your dot stuck for seasons in advance when the team changes ownership, half guts, etc. I just don't see the value in requiring owner approval. This should be an agent tool, not an owner tool. Sending contracts isn't that difficult
