How the he!# did this one get dug back up?
Thought this was dead in the water and the carcass was eaten by some illuminated deep sea fish that have teeth like elephant tusks.
yello more or less requested it.
Also, it's up for vote.

A person's word in their PM is good enough for me. Should they reneg at the last minute, then I'm better not having them signed as they would have just reneg'd on something different later.

The point here is to put an in game mechanism so its easier to open the conversation, and keep track of commitments.

Would the "commitment" be linked to the team? To the Owner? To the Recruiter? What's to stop two different recruiters, who don't communicate, from negotiating letters of commitments from two QBs each and causing chaos when 4 QBs either are all on the roster on day 42? Or two are automatically signed to the roster through the commitment system and two are FAs who are pissed that they passed on other offers? Would the Owner have the power to override "Commitments" negotiated by recruiters?
Too many questions in my mind for me to support any system that's binding and mechanized.

I think if a "letter if intent" could be converted into a contract on day 42, this would be a good situation for all.
1. the agent would be able to keep track of who they were committing to
2. the owners/recruiters would be able to keep track of who committed to them easier
3. on day 42, it converts into a sent contract and neither would have to try to remember (in the rush of day 42, things happen).
I know #3 is a stretch, but you get the idea of the purpose it could serve.
