When is the new DPC going to go live so that we can start working issues and cleaning things up?
Day 41 would sure be a good time for that to happen.
The more time the better, and hopefully fewer DCs will bail.

also, can anyone link any of these games where it looks like the LBs have been adjusted weak or strong? I'm just seeing standard (or what I hope is standard) alignments on the blitzing dots. I would imagine we can at least shift weak or strong as much as we used to be able to do.

There's a link on the previous page.

I used that link. Went through several games. Didn't think I saw any LB shifting. Thought I'd ask here in case anyone knew which games were testing LB shifts.

why the fuck do they always use lvl 72 dots when they 'test' shit? and I'd say the 3-4 is pretty much dead if you can't set the ROLB at least on the LOS. massive fail.

I don't put the ROLB on the LOS and my D is always among the top.

So what else is coming this longer offseason, anything?

lol how much time you think we have? Age based and revised DPC are two pretty big projects.

Catch, is there anyway you can enumerate the actual changes before we get the whole ball of wax thrown at us? The current projects state "Updates to DPC to limit D line movement" but we all already know LBs are being impacted. Will any other positions from the current DPC be impacted? Also when this was brought up initially there several suggestions offered in regards to the change that Bort posted he was interested in. Were any of those taken into consideration? The big ones being allowing LBs who don't move up to the line free reign to be line up horizontally depending on how far back they were and the other being LBs having free range to be positioned as long as they aren't blitzing.

Or was this whole thing done by Bort only without consideration of the suggestions and recommendations from the playerbase?

if a LB'er is not blitzing, they have free movement for their positional alignment (can't move a ROLB to the strong side just like now).

Basically there are five shifts possible for the DL - Strong, Balanced, Weak, Bunch, Spread. You can not move DL players.

There are three shifts possible for LB - Strong, Balanced, Weak. You can move LB'ers freely (on the side they are positioned) as long as they are not blitzing. If they are blitzing, their alignment is fixed.

Secondary players (FS/SS) have limitations as to how close they can be to the line of scrimmage when inside the tackle box. Their is expanded movement for the FS (can move farther to the strong side).

Wow, that's great about the FS, it should really help on 4-4 plays in particular.

Thanks for updating this thread with more info.

Finally, I'd like to reinforce what several people have said in this thread, and no doubt elsewhere: the DPC transition in and of itself -- i.e., changing the line shifts and so forth -- does not worry me NEARLY as much as the idea of trying to implement it across numerous teams I am responsible for. And we both know there are many coordinators who do far more teams than I do.

I do not think it is hyperbole to say that we coordinators, as a group, are no less than the lifeblood of this game. Every coordinator whose frustration drives him to randomize his password and GTFO affects dozens, if not hundreds of users in an intensely negative way. We've all seen it happen.

I therefore urge you as strongly as I can to please consider not finalizing the DPC rollout until defensive plays can be assigned to users.
