-1 Just add Special Teams AI if you're going to do this. Madden style Kickoff left, middle, right and return left, middle, right. Could add squibs and onsides later down the road too.

Well I respect the ones who do not like this idea. I am sure if we have not add the punting option for punters and were just now suggesting it, the same ones would be against it. If we have the options for Punters, why not have the option for kickers.

I think it's a great suggestion

+1 to this.

i think ST would be paid attention to more if htere were more options and it was a bigger part of the game. While this idea is cool, it would need to be implemented with the proper tools for A) the kick off team to compensate for kicker directional aims (i.e. it would be no fun to have the coverage dots run straight ahead as they currently do with no regard to kick direction) and B) the return team would need to have a tactical setting that lets them be balanced or return right/left/middle.

couple this suggestion with proper STOP SA trees, and special teams could actually be a place for excitement for everybody aside from the agent of the returner. It would also make STC's earn their money by scouting opposing ST units to gameplan/compensate for teams that kick only to one side and stack that side with FF gunners.

2) -100 to +100 directional slider for kick off left/right. This would allow special teams to try and stack one side of the field to try and limit exceptional returners or pin the KR team deep.

EDIT: An excellent suggestion was made that if the the slider is used and the K boots the KO out of bounds, the receiving team starts at the 40yrd line to mirror NFL rules. This would allow some resistance and consequences against consistent coffin corner KOs.

Make the 1st slider -100 corner kick to +100 center kick so you can't stack one way or the other

It would be too easy to have a stack coverage right + stack coverage left and flip them the coverage and kicker from game to game to screw up scouting

+1 for the distance / hang time slider though

You can't on-side kick in this game, so what's the point?

And the slider bar should be in the AI, NOT on the player. That way the head coach can decide if it should be a short kick, a long kick, or an out of bounds kick based on
1) score
2) time left in game
3) if the other team has returned a kick off for a TD.

So, what's the point of having any personal tactics? Why not just surrendure them all to the coaching staff? Players need involvement in the team and this is a small way to accomplish that. Also, player has little recourse if they are being slighted by the team and compromising personal tactics is a viable option for them to help get the team to cooperate with them.

If the decision is typically a coach-level decision, it should be the coordinators; if it's a player decision / attribute, then it should be in the player's control.

In this case, whether a kicker kicks long, short, or onside is never the kicker's decision, it's up to the special teams coach.

The -100 and +100 could maximize to which hash mark the K is targeting, therefore keeping the basic kick in the middle, but trying to intentionally nudge it to one side or another?

Until you guys manage to find a way to make special teams sensible for peewee I'll -1 every suggestion that is only considering WL special teams...

Currently the sideline kicks are absolutely atrociously horrendously awful in peewee leagues... so seeing any MORE of them is only going to make things worse.

Solution: Set your Pee Wee kicker's slider to 0

Actually to be quite honest the peewee sim dealing with the directional kicks has somewhat recovered as the dots get up to functional speed.

I imagine I'd probably support this suggestion given some solid testing, at this time.

There's an Epic suggestion about Special Teams AI..... that's what we need. Not just directional kickoffs.
