That may be true, but I honestly haven't thought of the Jets as a strong team since they lost to the Ravens. They've looked pretty bad in most games. Same thing with the Pats to, got some stuff to work on still with the defense, offense has looked amazing since after Cleveland. I knew we could be better without Moss, but I didn't think they would hit stride til next season lol.

Well don't forget how big that Leonhard Injury was. It's one thing if you just lose a good player, but he not only calls D plays, he makes every single adjustment. And at times, you could tell they were lost and having communication problems. Plus, it was very short notice, so hopefully whoever is calling them this week knows what he's doing. (If it was Bart Scott, we know why they gave up 45 ).

And our OC is just as big of an idiot. 30 rushes, 5.0 average, and he doesn't run. I can understand when it's late in the game and we were losing, but 2 early 3rd and shorts he chose the stupidest pass plays in the playbook instead of running the damn ball.

Don't give me the injury crap, we lost a starting CB and our best DE before the season started. It's the teams job to be able to fill those spots with depth. I understand those kind of calls, your down by so much, that 5 yard chunks aren't going to really help you at all.

Yes, But when you lose your play-caller 2 days before the game, it's kinda important. I can guarantee you the other idiots we have on the team can't call plays that well, and no one knew that defense inside and out like Leonhard did from being with the Ravens in past years. This week should be different, since we'll actually have someone that has time to learn the audibles, etc. Let's just hope it isn't Bart Scott

Rather interesting news that Spikes is suspended rest of the season for performance enhancing drugs. You guys just have to go all out to cheat the system.

Disappointing but based on his statement, I believe him, because a medication I am on has a certain type of steroid in it, for psoriasis. Not saying that's what it was, but I hope he appeals anyways. Won't cry about it like you would though if you lost your 2nd best LB.

Statement from Spikes:

“I’ve been contacted by the NFL and informed that I will be suspended four games for the detection of an illegal substance in a drug test. The substance was a medication that I should have gotten clarification on before taking. It was not a performance enhancer or an illegal drug. The integrity of the game is very important to me. I understand the league’s ruling and apologize to my teammates, the fans and the Patriots organization for this mistake.”

And Cam Newton didn't know his dad was trying to get money

What sounds better? "Oh I took a medicine that I didn't know did this" or "Yeah, I took a drug that contained steroids, oh well I'll take my suspension"

I will give him some benefit of the doubt though, especially with news like Chael Sonnen getting his suspension cut in half because he did clarify it. http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/mma/news/story?id=5878409

He didn't say he didn't know what he was taking, he said he should have gotten clarification from the NFL that the medication wasn't against the PED substance policy.

Meh, I would bet good money he didn't make that comment himself. Unless your LeBron James, most guys have to go through PR before they release a comment regarding really anything, but especially something like this. Either way, it wouldn't have changed that much. If we had Leonhard and you didn't have Spikes, I'd say it's more like 31-20 Pats.

2. An honest mistake by rookie inside linebacker Brandon Spikes or a careless, selfish act? Given all the NFL programs in place to educate players -- especially rookies as they enter the NFL -- it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt for violating the league's substance abuse policy and being hit with a four-game suspension (CSNNE.com's Tom Curran reported Saturday that the positive test was for amphetamines in a medicine designed to combat attention deficit disorder, according to a source.)
