I don't see the big deal - you can swap out quite a few players and still have good chemistry by game 1 and most certainly by playoff time

Yeah. I dropped from AAA to cap 22 minors. Complete roster swap. Dropping 50 players and adding 54 with no chemistry grace period. On day 0, my teams chemistry is 59/74/72. Not bad considering thats 104 players changed and we werent at 100/100/100 when I swapped.

yeah you just have to actually know where you will be next season so you can recruit BEFORE the offseason and have them signed while the chem him is only 1

Wrong answer.
Nothing has been finalized.
Given the way things happen around here I'm sure there will more changes coming before the old changes are put in place.
I refuse to buy more flex and invest in something that keeps changing on the latest whim.

Teams see that they may be absolutely screwed and start over because the chem hit would be too great for a competitive season and just want to start fresh.

How many teams are willing to sacrifice months, if not years of team building because they have to take a (maximum 9%) performance hit that most other teams will also be facing and that will be either completely gone or severely diminished by by playoff time?

If you start the season with a craapy chemistry it wont matter what it is by playoff time because your team wont be in the playoffs.
And contrary to what Bort has said 9% is huge when it is applied multiple times on each play.
Multiply that outcome by the number of plays and you are guaranteed an auto loss.
Vegas uses the same concept and their advantage is far less than 9% and yet they know when all is said and done they will have your money to build thier next mega resort and you go home with nothing.

ample time ?
that's a joke ....

so , we could have signed lower leveled players this season and been less competitive under the current system ? .... brilliant expectations from the staff!!

or , like catch , we could just own a team and buy all the players on it ???? .... NO .... I will spend even less from now on

My prediction is that there will be:

1. A ton of uncapped teams

2. A ton of cap 4 teams

3. A truly unbalanced and under-filled rosters in those capped leagues

4. A seasons worth of non-competitive teams with minimal chem through S20...

So I don't think it's a stretch to think that there may be some CPU teams (or teams with empty rosters) filling capped leagues while others make their way to uncapped for the duration of S20...

A product not even released yet has failed? Are you really the accountant there?

Reactive design does not equal to a happy user base, nor does complacency within the current application. Bort is receiving funding from the users to continue this beta fantasy and he has yet to invest in someone to map things out from an end-user perspective. With that being said, cash is king in any business and it is becoming more and more difficult to commit my money towards something that shows very little logic with regards to progress.

I'm sure that there is a map of the project life-cycle sitting right next to the Hot Pockets and Xena tapes in Bort's basement, but that's not what the user is looking for. We design with an end result in mind. Being forthcoming with information and how it pertains to the future status of the game is paramount when your end-users are also your investors.

If there are changes that have actually been planned and thought out, it seems logical that the management would take on the responsibility to try and mitigate any potential damages caused by the oversight. And if it wasn't an oversight, then baby-steps in the preceding seasons could have made these types of transitions hardly noticed.

Sky isn't falling, GLB is not failing, but the impatience and reasonable expectations of humanity remain.

Q:Will teams be given a one time chemistry grace period?

A: We will be suspending chemistry from day 41 until season rollover. If you have roster moves to make and don't want to take the chemistry hit, you will need to do so before then. This is a one time thing and will not be available in future seasons.

Let's wait another week or so to see what the almost final answer is
