Um i did.....When on this planet does -1 yard equate to +1 yard?

0 yards is right on him, +1 yard is 1 yard max behid him and the "not working as intended" -1 yard is SUPPOSED to be 1 yard cushion in front kid!!!

... except that you're forgetting that the Defensive AI ALSO affects the CB's cushion. The sim takes the CB's tactical cushion and the Defensive AI's cushion, and adds them together, and that's the actual cushion the CB plays with.

The lowest cushion a player can set to is, yes, -1.

However, the lowest cushion you can set on the Defensive AI is 1. You cannot go any lower than 1. 1 is the minimum.

The sim adds together both of those values to set the cushion. When you add -1 and 1 together, you get 0.

Therefore, the way the sim works right now, the lowest possible cushion value is actually 0, which is blanket coverage. You can go higher to have the CB stay between the WR and the end zone, but you can't go any lower than 0 -- which means you can't have the CB stay between the WR and the QB.

Sunshineduck wants to change that. He wants to make it possible to set your tactics so that the CB intentionally plays to stay between the WR and the QB. Right now, there's no way to tell the CB to do that.

...

Do you understand it now, Avenger? Please tell me you understand it now. PLEASE.

Clearly this issue needs to be cleared up... I don't think a single one of us understands how this actually works...

Nope, 0 yard cushion is 0 yards, -100 is -1 yard cushion. If they didn't have this or it doesn't work "as intended" then post in bugs.

I know it sounds retarded but -1 is -1 otherwise the powers that be should not allow a slider to go -1 yard (which is what the OP wants....to be -1 yard IN FRONT of a WR!)

Go look at the DAI Settings. What is the SMALLEST cushion the DAI settings will allow? NOT the personal settings, the DAI.

1 Yard. So, by default you always play at least 1 yard off. This can be modified by personal settings. So you can reduce that 1 yard to 0 yards by going -100.

BUT there's a catch. Bort has stated there is ALWAYS a cushion, and that 1 yard minimum in the DAI is on top of the basic cushion. So even when the DAI is set of its smallest value (1 yard) AND the CB is set for -100, removing that Yard, there is STILL a positive cushion.

Well, since the minimum allowed in the Advanced AI is +1, I'd have to assume that the default cushion in Basic/Casual is also +1, though that would be a good question for Bort.

But even if the minimum is actually 0 in Basic/Casual, the fact still remains that the minimum cushion in the ADVANCED AI is STILL +1. Which means that, using the Advanced AI, you still can't tell your CBs to play a negative cushion right now. The sim will add the minimum tactics cushion of -1 with the minimum Advanced AI cushion of +1 for an absolute miniumum cushion of 0.

So, Sunshineduck's suggestion is still valid anyway: make it possible to set a negative cushion using the Advanced AI. Right now, it's not possible. Sunshineduck wants to change that.

(Is it my turn to sarcastically call you cowboy? It really doesn't affect my argument either way.)

This is how the coverage slider should have interacted in the first place tbh.
