I was wondering if it was possible to maybe have a setting where the CB plays between the WR and the QB during the duration of the route, rather than giving him that much room and basically giving them a free catch? I realize that it is a build issue that my CB didn't make a play on the ball at the last second, but I feel like there should be an option for the CB to play underneath the WR rather than outside all the time so he's always in position to make a play on the ball (and also get burned deep) rather than only having a couple ticks window to make something happen. It would also make being a shutdown corner more meaningful, as the QB potentially wouldn't throw that way if the CB was right on top of the WR.

I've never seen a CB play underneath WR's on a go route when he wasn't getting burned by the WR, which kind of defeats the purpose of my CB's high speed build, since I feel he can run stride-for-stride with most WR's. I know you now have them play the underneath on slants, but wouldn't it make more sense to have an underneath/above option so DB's can select based on their builds?

You want coverage distance to be allowed to go negative maybe?

Yes. I would love this.

It's obviously not viable for every CB build (especially not those that are more balanced towards AGI) but for CB's made pretty much specifically to counter the 150+ speed WR's hitting the WL soon, it would be immensely helpful.

EDIT: In case you don't understand wtf this post is talking about, Novus explains it here: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4341350&page=2#39055780

so you read neither the OP nor the tooltip for that particular setting and posted anyways

I like it. Never understood why DBs were forced to sit behind the WR until the ball is thrown, essentially.

Oh, right: +1

Then why have -1 yard...should i haz +1 yard, cause theres that option too!

The -1/+1 yards is a factor you as a player can adjust to sort of override the settings of your coordination as far as your line-up distance.

A player with -1 presumably will line up closer than the coordinator sets them up to line up, a player with +1 would take an extra step back.

At least this is how I understood it via bort's explanation, this being said I as a coordinator really don't like the way this works but I do understand the need for a player to have SOME control over his dot beyond building it...

+1 to the OP because its at least a better idea than what exist now for coverage options.

The problem is that this seems to me like TOO IMPORTANT of a decision for the sole decision relying on an individual agent and I feel that the "over/under" type coverage you are talking about might be better split up responsibility wise...

Maybe give the coordinator the option to adjust the setting somehow as well?

Yeah for this change what I would like to see is the coordinator to be able to set a minimum of 0 and the player still be able to set from -1 to 1. Instead of the coordinator's minimum being 1 like it is now. JMHO.

I don't think you quite understand where the OP is going with this...

Yes, right now, you can set your CBs to a minimum cushion of -1 yards. However, the CB's cushion is FURTHER adjusted by the cushion in the defensive AI, where the minimum cushion is 1. The two cushion settings get added together, and that's the CBs actual cushion.

So, if the CB's tactics and the AI are both at the lowest cushions (-1 for the tactics, 1 for the AI), those get added together to 0. That means the CB sticks to the WR. And if you go above 0, the CB tries to stay "behind" the WR (from the QB's perspective).

What the OP is asking for is the ability for the CB to get "in front of" the WR (from the QB's perspective) -- a true negative cushion. Right now, there is no way to do that in GLB. The OP wants to change that.

No we dont.

Cushion is one yard minimum. So your -1 yard from CB personal settings is a 0 yard cushion.

This is not a negative number.

Nope, 0 yard cushion is 0 yards, -100 is -1 yard cushion. If they didn't have this or it doesn't work "as intended" then post in bugs.

I know it sounds retarded but -1 is -1 otherwise the powers that be should not allow a slider to go -1 yard (which is what the OP wants....to be -1 yard IN FRONT of a WR!)

I would suggest you just stop posting and maybe read the tooltip for the current coverage slider lest you appear to continue to be more ignorant than you already are
