Well, the suggested "fix" for the 55 good players not playing together, is to allow teams like Vahalla where they have been together since creation to actually have 55 good players, while nobody else can sign 55 good players.

So it makes it a choice between "start from scratch and stick together, or lose to teams that do because you can't sign good players"

Well that answers my question from before, renegotiations are the only way to get over the cap.

Meaning, 3 seasons down the road, I want to move to Hardcore etc, can I do that? And once I do, will I have the option to move back?

I'd guess there would be a time limit sj.

Bort/Catch,

In the event you have 1 QB on your team and they go inactive and their contract expires but you are over the salary cap now...are you supposed to do without a QB?

Cool.

Ok...so what would you do? Allow super teams? Allow people to go over the salary cap but have a luxury tax?

Oh no you might only be able to 50 great builds on the team! The horror!

This actually might make recruiting easier for some of the other teams out there. You know, the ones you beat by 100 and whine about there not being enough competition.

Personally I'd rather they just lower the roster limit to 45 or 50 and not bother with this salary cap nonsense.

Almost amazingly, this might be right? From what I have read, the salary cap stops you signing new players, not re-signing existing players. So surely this will play right into the hands of guys who set up their team from scratch with a few mates who control all their players, and completely kills people who do not have a network who try and recruit new players every year.

If the intention was to promote parity then I support it, but I think this might have the exact opposite effect. If you want a salary cap, I think you need to do it properly - obviously, if set salaries relate to all players then you would have parity pretty quickly, plus a huge amount of ragequitting!

Set salaries do apply to all players. However, you have the option to go over the cap (and pay a penalty I guess) via re-negotiations but not via free agency signings.

Effective Level is such a useless way to measure builds, and now the higher your effective level is because of how you built your guy, your actually may be less sought after because you will cost too much money.

Why penalize good builds vs bad builders, it should be based off of level, plain and simple....
Or age of player is even better yet, this would even make it so lower level teams that want to take on over the hill guys have to pay a premium to be able to do so...

But using effective level....wow just penalize those with high stats....

I guess we now have a reason to not to slow build LOL....

If you are able to get 50 top of the line builds on a team in Pros, well then envermind thats fine....if your forced to only field 45 player teams, well thats ridiculous

No, but probably if they move to hardcore when we set it up. It would kinda be required there.

I mean, there's a difference between really really good teams and SSB teams.

I agree. Thank you for insisting on the cap. I think it is the key part of the original proposal and this change is something we can understand and after everyone stops whining, this change is one we can adjust to.
