Lol.... We go from number 5 in rushing to 18? Then 28 or so in passing to 6?.... I think your rankings may be a bit biased to what X team did the game before. (imo)

It intentionally "re-evaluates" each and every single game and applies a "correction" factor based on how good the team is currently that you have played even in the past, how well you did against them given what we now know about how good they really are, and such things like that.

So yes if your skills are related to not only the skill of the opponent you played against but also there ever evolving skills as well.

I think that is proof enough to say that W/L clearly doesn't have enough of an impact on these rankings.

wow SOS means WAY TOO MUCH in these rankings.
we were 0-3 and had played 3 teams that were undefeated at the time and were ranked 12th
now we won 4 straight and are now 4-3 and ranked 13th.
Doesnt that make a lot of sense???

Maybe but I do know that 3 out of 4 times these rankings have picked the winners of the playoffs by placing the #1 team (2 of those 3 winners had losses but were rated better then the undefeated teams) based on demonstrated talent adjusted for the quality of opponents they have played against.

Besides, we all know that obliterating a crappy team means next to nothing about how good you are and that only the records against moderately decent to good teams have much meaning. And being a "crappy" team because you are just barely losing to undefeated teams probably means you are likely much better then some of the teams who have a few wins.

Also the schedule is important but not as much as you think. There are 7 factors all that have equal weighting and is based on the "best" of all the teams and your proximity to it.

Strength of Schedule
Points Scored vs Points Allowed
Passing Yards Made vs Pass Defense of Team Played
Passing Yards Allowed vs Pass Offense of Teams Played
Running Yards Made vs Run Defence of Teams Played
Running Yards Allowed vs Run Offence of Teams Played


All 8 are on a scale of 0 to 1.5 and are simply added together to figure out the rating. That number is the number in ()'s after the teams name.

It is possible to get over 1.5 in a category due to certain things like the best run defence team in the entire league allowing negative run yards total from all games combined would cause that rating to potential go higher then a 1.5 for that team and teams allowing negative total yards and such.

All that being said, I probably will adjust the rankings so that not all aspects of a team have even weighting. Things like winning should probably have more value then everything else so maybe moving it to a scale of 0 to 2.5 might be better or something.

Um... just wondering... is special teams not included in this because I know some of these games have been won and lost by special teams (I was involved in a game where our opponent missed 4 extra points... we won by 4 points. [not this league]).
