I think that this can only help with backups. You can only make your build better by getting XP (as long as you haven't hit 400 days), and players that are just as capable as the starters, should already be getting just as much PT as the starters as you should have a heavy rotation in order to keep your players fresh.

I think that this is a good move, because sometimes you just don't have enough plays to go around, or sometimes there is a huge gap in stamina that prevents your backups from getting on the field enough for max XP at lower levels.

Thanks AA , just seems like a way to F with guys being able to use the excuse you got your 50%..........................lol

It seems good to me, unless I am a retard. No more getting screwed out of XP on a fluke game where you manage to hit less than 20 plays due to depth chart weirdness or the game being one sided.

yeah, like when a team runs all shotgun formations against you it really screws almost all the LBs out of XP. had that happen once

This will make recruiting easier, grab those crappy builds and use them on ST. They will get the XP, many owners will do this. Another nail in the coffin for this new system and more encouragement for players with crappy builds.

If the crappy builds are on ya team, surely you can educate them to make better dots in the future?

I agree with this. We went 16-0 this season and dominated all season on defense so our defense was hardly on the field many games. We also weren't hitting the blowout threshold so in 4 or 5 games this season, a bunch of players on defense didn't get their 20 plays (even with playing special teams). Its tough to split 35 plays between 2 players even with one of them playing special teams.

...if you suck that much worse than the starter, you are on the wrong team.

If someone is giving you next to no plays when someone is within even ten levels of you at a decent level, they are doing it wrong or your build is so horrible that you should retire.

Why are people mad about this? It means that when the OC messes up and only puts you on punt return or something that you aren't going to go without exp.

It means that when you only get 5 plays as a FB because the gameplan decides to go with Shotgun and Singleback all game, you don't get screwed.

If you are getting rotted already, this will only help you. If you aren't being rotted, but for some reason you aren't getting a ton of plays (perhaps too many backups) that you are still going to get full EXP.

Remember, in blowout games every player already gets max exp.

Love this change...can't believe anyone would complain about this?

#1 If you are on a team that is giving all of the plays to the starters...it is not a very good team. Any good team needs the backups to play to be competitive with the top teams.

#2 This just makes it that much easier to get everyone on the team max XP...and when you run into wacky opponent game plans (no punts, 5wr all game, etc...) your players will minimally get 50% xp.

#3 Nerfs SSB...

As a GM who takes the responsibility of getting all of our players max XP every game this change is very welcome! One of my jobs just got a whole lot easier.

Like I said I guess i'm not understanding , just seems like a good excuse.

While there are asshole owners, these asshole owners were assholes before as well. So, for them, the game didn;t change... they remain assholes.

At least now a player 'benched' will still get some experience where before the asshole owner could completely deny them experience.

FURTHER, Owners hoping to win, will find that with future changes to stamina/energy confidence/morale that playing your squad more evenly will be a competitive advantage. It is not going to be beneficial to play one player 55 plays and another player 10 plays.

While I would have preferred (and initially argued for) MaxXP for every player on a team... so at least if you are rotted and not given plays, you can keep your build competitive... this system is very fair and means that the players who are paying to boost their player etc are less able to be screwed with by an asshole owner.

Assholes will ALWAYS find ways to be assholes. No matter what system we put in place. The best we can do is mitigate their effects.

A crappy build will suck on ST's and in fact, might actually make your team suck even more because good teams have good ST's squads and so they'll run all over your ST's squad... so hopefully this isn;t a tactic you are considering.

In the first few seasons of play a 'crappy' build can be recovered. It will NEVER be as good as the counter-intuitive builds that are actually the best performing builds at the upper levels, but they can be recovered to be decent builds for the AA's through some pro leagues.

As an owner, and even as someone who just helps out other teams from time to time, its to your benefit to help new players recognise a crappy build and repair it for their own enjoyment and the enhancement of your team.

I don't think this will effect people the way you think it will. The small minority of people who are douchebags will use that excuse, but it's not all that common.
