Yes, as long as you have points in it, you can get it up to 15. Don't reset it ever though - then it'll go bye bye.

Second question. When will the VA officially go away?

asks the guy with a level 19 scat HB that will be level 25 on the first negative day of the coming season

Potential third question - can we make a new rule allowing mods to boost 6 times this season?

No.

Catch, why does the Quick Read description say, "This skill can be very helpful vs a smothering zone defense."?
Wouldn't it be just as helpful against double teams?
Also, will it come into play if say the blitz is coming in fast, and your primary target is covered fairly well, will it help you to look at your next option and possibly find a wide-open guy?

The more I think about this SA, the more I fear that it will be as likely to hurt you as help you if there is very little time to throw. Current behavior for QBs it to just throw to the guy they are looking at when they feel hurry pressure. If the primary read is somewhat covered and then he checks quickly to the secondary read who is heavily covered, and at that moment the hurry pressure gets there, he's going to throw into the heavier coverage and be worse off for having not stayed on his primary read longer.

basically Quick Read speeds up the QB's progressions. Bort wrote the description, you'd have to ask him specifically why he wrote that. I tested Quick Read pretty thoroughly though. And remember it's not like you have to have it - if it's not going to work for your player or team, then don't select it.

So when's the next Bort Q&A?

Yep. I'm just thinking, it would have more of a clear benefit if the QB had a sense of whether his next read would be better than his current read. Currently he doesn't seem to have this at all.

Thanks for your clarification on the scat back!! I guess I'll keep the VA, choose the archtype, switch slippery into bruiser, and add route run, first step, or something like that. Should be a nice upgrade to my rec/rush FB

Will Open Field Fake work while running a route?

No, must have the ball. It's been reduced to 5 yards though. I need to change that.

Why are these new SAs? Why not just make them VAs...they seem a lot closer related? Kind of stinks you are limited to one...

Which of these new SAs is good for special teams/returners? (none)

Not everyone needs to use a brand new SA as their bonus SA. Most positions can benefit from adding some of the old SAs as the bonus. Returners don't need a new SA, they can instead add Return Spec (for HB or WR) or some kind of fake for CB.

LB was the worst off in terms of the old SAs, and I think they got the most options with the new SAs, that is how it should be. Passing QBs also didn't have any decent choices for their bonus SA, so it's good that they got two decent new ones as options.

I was wondering about when VAs go away and we get all these new SAs. What I mean to say is that VP are separate from SP so VAs are cheap to invest. SAs are very expensive at the cost of the build. At some point will we lose all our VP and VAs?

Also if we do lose our VAs will players that boosted early from level 22 to 25 get the 500 XP back that they gave up to have more VXP?

I can't imagine that they would give you XP retroactively for having boosted to 25 to get VAs.
You still have the VP.

As for the phase out, the phase out VAs will still be availible to players who already have them, its just new players won't be able to select them, and if older players respec them, they will be gone for those players too.
