I've been wondering how important vision is for O-line. My center's vision is not very good but still manages to pick up blitzes. The only pressure given up through the middle is on overloads. I've even seen plays where the ROT picks up the LOLB, RG grabs LDE, my center gets NT buts still manages to slide and at least chip the blitzing MLB. I'm just not sure that vision is really that critical.

I wouldn't call it critical, and I would never put points into it. Training it overnight until it gets to around 25 is a good idea though, but not until you at least have agility to that level.

Bingo. I feel the same about the confidence attribute

Vision is best coupled with speed to make sure you can pick up secondary blockers and become an effective downfield blocker.

Yeah, I would say it depends on your position as well. I don't think it would be as critical for a C since he would probably be busy with the NT anyway. I would say it is pretty crucial for OTs though. I noticed a def. difference in the effectiveness of my OT when I got switched from ROT to LOT and put more points into vision.

I'm not willing to bite on "crucial." Vision is important, but not as important a lot of other attributes.

If you are talking about picking up the LB, yeah, that is pretty good. I guess I just look more at real life though. How often do you see centers pick up a blitz coming from that side! He looked pretty quick in that play too to even get over there and let the FB through!

Wow, he got there fast. Can you give us a clue as to his speed and vision?

it was a real quick answer from my center he was gonna help the LG then sudently went to the LB, i got some other plays where my center did rushs like that to block but i cant find, vision is crucial to center but i dont recomend more than 30, and if u want ur vision workin good get a good agility too or it will be useless

I don't have a play link but my C had a few plays where he got the second level and made a good block on LBs. Esp. if the NT is doubled. or if he pancakes the NT and goes on past. before i trained on speed i also saw him get passed up by the RB and not get to the block in time, so i think it can be important.

What do you consider "good" agility so vision wont be useless?

well on my team...of the two guards, one is 10 lower str and blocking than the other with equal speed/agi but low str/block one has high vis...the high vis one lead the team in pancakes. had a lot more than anybody else
