was that directed at me? and i never said my guy was awesome just that the kind of build i use has been successful. and the thing is if people have a good build they aren't likely to want to give to much away. they'll tell you the basics of the build but they aren't going to open it up so everyone can copy it

Your already screwed, you put points into the SA tree at level 1, retire him and start again

Yes, I'm sure I've completely ruined my own player and my D-league team for generations by putting 2 points in SAs *sigh*

I have no idea. All I know is that I read this entire forum earlier, and about 4 players raved about their build, all of which had their stats invisible.

I tried to write a response to this, but I genuinely haven't got a clue what you are talking about so I failed.

Actually that is pretty useful.

One question though, you seem to have put quite a few points into Strength. In the player build guide I read, it seemed to suggest that Strength was only really useful for a primarily run-stuffing SS, but the majority of your SA points are in the Coverage tree. Is this an attempt to make your guy more balanced, or do you feel that a certain amount of strength is a prerequisite for any successful SS?

I'm not trying to make my guy a heavy-hitter, but i do want him to have the ability to lay the big hit. However, i am more concerned with making sure he doesn't give up the big play through the air, and to get the picks

An SS should aim to get strength up to 35 or so. An SS that has low strength (below 25) is really just an FS. SS's main job is to stuff the run and help with the pass. While FS mainly shuts down the pass and helps with the run.

Here is my FS he had a pretty solid season with 52 Tkls, 2 Ints, 2 FFs, and 5 PD. He also returned Kicks and averaged 30 yards a return.

I plan on boosting him at the beginning of the season and adding 5pts to his speed.

On my SS I have also noticed that having higher strength helps me cause more fumbles.

Yeah, higher strength tends to give you a higher chance of forcing a fumble.

As far as SS helping against the run, mine is like the do a little bit of everything SS. Our FS is the same way, but I think he leans more toward pass defense. My gy played on one of the best defenses in AAA #2 and I still had 64 tackles, 3 INTs, 3 FF, and 20 PDs. I'm not gonna say i know everything about SSs, but I recommend not investing in Special Abilities early on.
