I wouldn't know for sure but I would just get strength rediculously high. At the least you're wearing down the center/guard's stamina due to him being the weaker player and then when you get a lower level backup against you the chance of plowing through the line is higher.

Those would be the ones to train. Make sure if you want to specialize that you focus only no one SA tree.

actually, both trees have 2 skills useful for either build, Break Thru, Shed Block, Strong Base, and Wall. Ona pass rusher build, You would only put your run stuff SA points into the first two, the useful ones. A run stuffer would put only enough into prerequisite skills for Shed Block and Strong Base. These four skills combined make for Olinemen having hard times blocking you. On my NT I have 3 on wall and Break Thru and 2 on Shed Block. Since I have used shed block I have found myself getting onto the QB when the double/triple moves on to block a LB or when Break Thru procs and a FB picks me up for a second.

Dual SA tree DTs (as long as they have stats to back them up) work well and even better than many single SA tree players. It makes them more versatile and have more chances to proc abilities that throw away blockers. lets say...

Dual SA tree with 2 in all of break thru, strong base, and shed block.
Made up numbers,
10% chance for break thru
15% for Strong Base
10% for Shed Block (I know, these are absurd)

Single SA tree, run stuff
Break thru has 4,
20% to proc

Single SA tree, Pass rush
4 in shed block, 3 in strong base
20% Shed block
22.5% Strong Base

In the first, the DT will have lots of opportunities for one of his skills to work. In the second, not so many just the one. It works 1/5 of the time. On the third, easily the one that will proc most. Now, granted the run stuffer won't get pushed back or miss tackles, the pass rusher will make it to the QB more often or make RBs run out of the way, but is susceptible to double and triple teams. The balanced one, with more run than pass SAs will have the best of both worlds if built right. They will have lots of chances to shed blockers when singled, and will not get pushed back as much when doubled. Plus he will demoralize any RB or even the QB when tackling with Snarl and add to fumbling rates with Big Hit.

The DT has the best versatility on his SAs since even with lots of speed or strength he may not work well without his SA abilities on both trees. They are made to beat the Oline with their abilities to shed blockers when they proc.

Anyone have any opinions on ratio of strength/agility/speed? I'm trying to get at the qb more on the rush and am trying to figure out the balance between agility and speed. As an idea, I'll be at level 20, what would most think would be good for those three stats at that level?

I haven't put a single point into the Run Stuffing tree and it's worked well for me so far. I'm sure it helps you proc more but there are definitely other areas that are more important to focus on.

Does anybody have a high vision DT and has it made a noticable difference?

I ask because I haven't put any points into it, but I train it fairly regularly. I would think it would help identify pass vs run and blocking style, but I am not sure if the computer algorithms are set to do that.

Anyone know how high your str/tackling need to be in order to switch your tactics to cause fumbles and not miss an abundance of tackles?

I have my tackling around 35, strength at 62, only missed two tackles last season. Hope that helps, can't remember the tactics i used when I got the missed tackles, though.

my tackling is 28 and I didn't miss a tackle all season on power tackling. I am not playing downward either (I am the backup for my team).

my DT/NT has about 30 vision and he seems to read plays well, moving the pile/starting to move laterally to make holes on pass plays for the Linebackers.

Can anyway care to see if Shed Block and strong base work on double teams? This has been something I would like to try.

In comment to Chaos Knight: The run stuff tree has to do with not getting pushed around and demoralizing players to be weaker when tackled. Pass rush tree goes to the QB more often (duh), instead of 2 moves that demoralize/fumble you just have one fumble on sack move. Things that are pick and choose around here.
