It's not?

Apparently some people think slow building means save up SP...forever. So I don't blame the thread starter for trying to clarify that.

depends. You can always train the other one later.

How the F does something as simple as slowbuilding turn into someone saving up 100 SP's?! I'm glad you started this thread because I've been seeing the same thing looking over the forums.

I think you should only train your main attribute and save SP's until you can bring it to the first cap. Once you can hit the first soft cap it's time to spend them and start taking advantage of natural LVL gains. I've started out with some great slowbuilds but eventually screwed them up by trying to get too cute with some of the secondary attributes. If there is one thing I'm learning with my newest player, DE Hackey Sack attack it is keep it simple and just focus SP's on your 3 most important skills while you train the rest. observe my WR Banana Fingas below:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=855173

This was a perfectly good slow-built WR at one point and now he just isn't productive anymore after my tinkering. I don't know if it was because of his roll in the offense or a result of trying to be too balanced after going full out SPD for most of his life. Jacking up jumping was the worst thing I did for him and now I don't know what to do next with the bastad.

Because he is built like a CB with less agility and vision but more catching. Seriously, that is the WR every good CB is built to completely shut down.

best bet is to turn him into a possession WR. take all the equipment out of speed, cap carrying and strength (then start training them) split your reg equip between 2 agility, 1 jumping, and 1 catching and work on 3rd capping catching and jumping after you have capped strength and carrying.

Very simple. In the beginning you hold on to points until you cap. So if you hold on to 15 or 20 or 25 points for a little bit of time then holding on to more points for a longer time HAS to be better. Right!? More is better. More is better! I don't know why. I don't understand why. I don't understand math. But more is better! It just has to be.

Read step 1. Read step 2. Follow those steps. No need to read or understand the rest of the instructions. No need to understand what or why you are only following part of a plan. Just do it.

N = number of trainings between levels
A = auto level gain
P = percent value of training under cap
p = percent value of training over cap

If
N(P) > A + N(2p) - wait to cap
If
N(P) < A + N(2p) - cap

Although you always want it trained so that you can roll over with 1 training.

The trouble is a lot of people don't even consider training at the cap. Especially someone who's saving SP for 20 levels.

It depends.
If I am still training that attribute over the cap, then I wait until I have enough sp to hit the 2nd cap.
If I am not training that attribute any more then I just assign them as they come in.

It depends on how much time I have. Position (auto level gain) plays a part and level time of season plays a part.

Figure out how many times you need to train the attribute to get it where you want to before you will 2nd cap. Then determine how many days of training there will be before you have to be there. If you can train on intense and get there do it. If not, train on normal. You may end up doing a combination of both.
