If you like reading historical books I suggest two books. The first one is Storm of Steel by Ernst Jungr, it is an account of WWII written through the eyes of a german soldier and how he wurvived and what he did. It does not have a political spin to it, he doesn't go on rants about how the Nazi's are in the right or the evil Americans. He just talks about what he did and was ordered to do by his superiors and the experiences he had.

Sounds similar to Svne Hassel's books. There was a Russian guy who did that type of stuff too but I forget his name.

Oh, no doubt!! Up until about 6-8 years ago, I read everything he wrote! The Stand is still one of my favorite books and the first time I read Salem's Lot, it scared the crap out of me!

He has a new book out in November called Under the Dome, it sounds pretty sweet, but if you read the plot sounds a bit like the Simpsons movie LOL

I read Enders Game (the whole series actually), and it was pretty good.

Plus if you are still in school, you might eventually have to read anyways.

I would also say The Dresden Files

It's like a Sherlock Holmes, if he was a sorcerer, story with fantasy element mixed in (vampires, werewolves etc)

+10

It's a good series. The codex alera is pretty good also. You should check it out if you liked the dresden files.

Spending a week on the beach at the end of the month, need a book or two I can read while holding a nice rum buzz.

Appreciate any ideas; most often read fantasy genre, Matthew W. Stover, George RR Martin are at the top of my list. Catch 22 and The Count of Monte Cristo are two of my favourite books.
