Also, I was thinking we could use like a 3-3-5 the way teams like WVU use it where it's their base Defense with 3 DLs, 3 LBs, 2 CBs, 1 FS, 1 SS and 1 Rover(either SS or FS)...also we need delayed blitzes, instead of having to stick the player so far back, we should have delayed blitzes where the LB drops into coverage for a few ticks then blitzes like the ones used IRL.

I would love to see this. Technically WVU runs the 3-3-5 Stack. As a base defense, I think it would be very effective against rushing QBs.

I think this is great, but I'm warning that some of your links provide incorrect alignment of the formation(s) they are diagraming. The 46 is an example. In the 46 the OLBs are on the strong side. In your diagram they are on the weak. I have seen most of the material you have gathered. Because at one point I was submitting diagrams to a mod to give an appropriate diagram of a base 4-3 alignment. WHich in GLB is incorrect. I couldn't find any from a free online source.

My point is these ideas are great...but Bort really needs to just take $100 dollars and buy a trusted resource on the subject. Then we wouldn't have to provide formation ideas, plays, and point out that current formations are mis-aligned. With all due respect I spent hours doing that stuff and I think while forum discussion is good for the game. The game shouldn't rely on paying customers to do their research for them. If accuracy and realism is the aim of this sim. THen get a source of diagrams and plays that leaves no doubt that they are authentic. Or just go to the Madden website and "steal" their play diagrams/formations. As they are all basic plays not property of Madden. You'd have to call them something else in some instances.

Also the 4-3 stack or sometimes called the Kansas City stack would be a nice addition too.

2-5-4?

The KC Chiefs have run this formation a few times, and I think it rocks. It'd be nice for pass situations where you want to zone up. but still stay stout against a surprise run.

2 DT (or 2 DE or 1 DT and 1 DE)
5 LB - (ROLB, LOLB, LILB, RILB, MLB)
2 CB
1 FS
1 SS

I think the 5 man front has to be put into the game. The O-line has such a distinct advantage vs the D-line in short yardage for nothing else then the numbers. The only way to equalize it is to put a DE at LB and a DT at DE and get the penalty for playing out of position.

I think the biggest need is the 2-4-5 Nickel
There is a need for more coverage people, and more guessing on which 4 are gonna rush.

2-5-4
&
5-2-4

Both are mandatory IMHO.
