This will be the first annual AAA World Cup Tournament.
It will be run much like the PWT of years past. There will be 64 teams in the field. The tournament will not be finalized until the first day of season 11. At that point I will rank all teams that have entered (if more than 64 teams attempt to join, only the top 64 teams will be allowed entry).
How teams are ranked
Ranking will be based on the following criteria...
3/5 = average level of roster (excluding K/P)
1/5 = wins last season
1/5 = overall scouting bars (a combination of all of your teams scouting bars excluding kicking)
***note...any team that won a trophy last season will automatically be accepted***
also, if there is a tie at any point in the rankings, the tie-breaker is highest overall chemistry
Creating the Field
The top 16 teams will be given seeds as well as the bottom 16 teams. Those two groups will be randomized and slotted accordingly . The middle 32 teams will be randomized and thrown into the other 16 groups meaning that not all groups are created equal. Some will be more difficult than others. I will try to make sure that groups aren't overloaded with teams from the same region.
First Stage
The first stage of the tournament will be a group stage. Each group's teams will play in a round-robin format. Each win is worth 3 points. A tie is worth 2 points. A close loss (a loss by 7 points or less) is worth 1 point. The top two teams from each group will advance. Ties will be broken by points scored, points allowed, largest single game point total (in that order).
Second Stage
The winner of group A will play the runner up from group P, with the remainder of the teams following suit. The teams will then be slotted into a 32-team bracket. This will be single-elimination with a 3rd place consolation game.

Games may be scheduled in advance if both teams agree to play early. Failing to schedule a game in any stage will result in a loss, so please make sure you have an available scrimmage slot. I will be the sole judge of who is responsible for failing to meet these terms if a game is not scheduled (after discussing it with both parties).

Regarding how the field will be set...
1) There will be no more than 16 teams from any given region (this is a World Cup tournament...you get the idea)
2) If there are less than 5 teams from any given region that attempt to enter, then they will all be in the field
3) I will post the rankings along with the draw. It will be random to a point...but I will move some things around to try to make sure teams are playing outside of their region.
