Going to watching Miami's Offense against Florida's Defense. Florida has basic D only, Miami's AI looks like this:

1st Down
50% Shotgun 5WR Shallow Cross
50% Shotgun 5WR Comebacks

2nd Down
50% Pro Set Drag Short
50% Pro Set TE Screen

3rd Down
50% Pro Set Double Fly
50% Shotgun 5WR Hitch Corners

Im really liking the the 5 WR comebacks in short situations (teams will most likely pull their defenses back) and the Pro Set double fly. All are cool though.

Plays look nice. One thing that should be addressed IMO is comeback plays in general. The QB loves to target them for 0-2 yard gains, even on 3rd and 8 situations and if the play is a medium pass or something. The logic just doesn't make sense for QBs with 70 vision to be throwing to a wide open receiver at the line... when the CB was just momentarily fooled but easily recovers for a TFL.

This happens a lot on plays where the comeback isn't the intended route.. but still goes there every time, forcing me to remove the plays all together.

I see this sort of thing on a lot of passes that send WR3 to the sideline also. For example a medium TE play from shotgun sends a WR to the sideline. After all routes are dead, the WR is just standing 2 yards downfield on the sideline with no more route to run, and the ball goes there. The route is just ugly!

Maybe players should turn up field or improvise based on vision/agility/etc., after their route ends like that. The comebacks and routes sending receivers to the sidelines just die, then end up the target, and are totally against the flavor of a lot of plays in the playbook.

For about the 257th time, we don't want to add new formations until we are sure that the defensive AI is ready to handle them >_>

We're just working on getting some more plays out there with what we have, because it's not hard to ask for play suggestions, pick which ones are good, and put them in, whereas adding new formations would mean having to code not only the new formation, but changes to the entire defensive sim AI and advanced AI to be able to handle the different personnel.

So let's just roll with what we have for now

2 TE sets and 4 WR sets should have been in the game a long time ago. If new plays are added and those formations aren't added at the same time I think that would be a mistake personally.

2 TE and 4 Wides are fine for the defense to account for, with or without the DPC. Put them in. Both a good and a bad DC have now said it.

A 5 wr WR end-around would be pretty nice to see.... Would certainly make DC's rethink that commonly used real-life 2-man rush that we see all day against 5-wide now...

I mean... except for the 6 Pro/AAA teams that have rushing qb's.

Oh? Well then, please explain to me how the DPC would account for a 2nd TE as it is? I'm a little confused there.

Seriously guys, when we say that the DAI isn't ready, it's because it isn't ready. Not that hard to grasp.

The code is already "in place" with how WR's are setup.

Shotgun 3 WR - Slot In n Up ... convert WR3 to a fly route

atm ... no SG3 play has a fly pattern for a WR3
