First of all, I'd just like to say that I posted this in the bugs forum first. I'm not trying to add all these random penalties to the game. I just incorrectly assumed that it was a bug and was told to post it here.

It should be that hard to fix - just use the x-component of the OTs and if the QB isn't outside of that while there's a pocket and he throws it out of bounds it's intentional grounding.

I noticed this as well, and have been silent about it, just because in the past, when someone noticed something that SHOULD be a penalty and it wasn't, later on it got 'fixed' so that it was...

Since there aren't any other penalties besides Offsides and False Start currently, which is pretty much silly as hell, since I see blocks in the back nonstop all over the field in every game, and what appears to be holding by CBs and OTs all the time already, this should also be implemented...I agree with that

lol, i bet he was set to throw away when everyone is moderately covered, and was also looking for the first possible pass. Good idea, but then he would have to have it so the QB's would have a vision check to see if they would attempt a tough pass or take the penalty.

but he threw it passed the LOS therefore cannot be intentional grounding

Most intentional throwaways in this game are while the qb is still in the tackle box. Gonna be hard to find situations where the qb rolled out of hte pocket and couldn't find an open man and threw it away 10 plus yards from any reciever

This is also a fatal flaw of this game...there exists no type of scrambling in this game anywhere.

He wasn't outside the tackles so it it is still intentional grounding. The only time throwing it past the LOS negates the intentional grounding penalty is if you scramble outside the pocket.


Yea, the lack of scrambling sucks. For the time being though, I'd say to just let these QBs get sacked or get called for intentional grounding. DEs already have a tough enough time getting to the QB so there's no need to take away the few sacks that they do get.

By the way, why did it occur without a hurry? That seems kinda weird.

We DEFINITELY need this ASAP. We'll start seeing more sacks if QBs have an incentive to stop throwing it away so often.

At the same time, you can also get rid of the insane interceptions CBs are making while the QB is trying to throw it away.

intentional grounding is very subjective, very hard thing to code. If added, needs to be something Bort adds on the back burner

Yeah, but I think that it can be very easy for Bort to code just for the case when the QB throws the ball out of bounds. It's hard to determine if a QB's errant throw into the turf is intentional grounding, but that doesn't happen in GLB anyways.
