I thought the same thing some years ago.......

Unfortunately though, you are wrong. It really does make a massive difference. I have run various tests with new players, and if you create two players, with almost identical builds, and they get almost the same XP, but boost one at the end of the season, and one at the start, then the difference is about 2 levels. That, at our low levels (about level 10 ish) makes an absolutely HUGE difference, unless you have a huge squad, which no one does.

None of our players have boosted, and have 3 levels to go, which would bring our entire team to level 13 by play-off time. Will it be enough to win the whole thing? I doubt it, but we'll give anyone a good game, and that's all we ask.

Whatever happened to "the taking part" being more important than the winning? <tongue-in-cheek> When will you Americans learn.......

Hmm, seems that 'tincy bit of nightly xp' was enough to eek out just the smallest of victory margins against you

Usually I hate to say "we told you so", but early boosting really doesn't do you any favours. Take note everyone, in case you start new level 1players.

Until you reach about level 30, I would boost at the end of the season, either after or before the play-offs (depending on if your team makes it through or not).

After level 30, boost before the season starts, as you will see virtually no detriment to your players' progress.

Korn.......take note.

That was valid pre-veteran abilities... at 22 it's better to boost to 25 immediately to begin receiving Veteran Points (unless the new Bort nerfs wreck attribute VAs)... at 29 your XP from games and nightly is set in stone (as long as you make 20 plays a game non-kicking) and you can boost ASAP.

I've never read that special team plays didn't count toward XP.

kickers/punters don't need 20 plays for max xp, is all I meant by that
