A sack isn't a skill though buddy. It's just a tackle on the QB behind the line of scrimmage. So one could feasibly get a diving tackle behind the line of scrimmage and that target could feasibly be a QB.

Never said it was a kill, I said its an ability. I'm saying there is some arbitrary code that does not allow a sack with diving tackle, or it does happen but the simulation does not display it as such.

To my knowledge a diving sack has never taken place, and I was on a team with a guy who about 60 sacks a season for the past two seasons.

I get what you mean... but what you are saying isn't valid. Again... a SACK is not an ability. It is merely a tackle on the QB behind the line of scrimmage. It is a statistical representation... just like a tackle for a loss on a RB or WR. Those are stats, there isn't an ability that causes a LB to get a TFL. It is merely being in the right position at the right time. If jumping actually increases your tackling range... than it would increase your sack range. It may or may not trigger a "diving" tackle but that's really beside the point.

The guy was merely asking if jumping would increase his tackling range.

I can't find plays directly, but I've had a couple sacks in the past from a slight range - and I'm sure as jumping were increased, you'd see more. I just don't think the text shows it.

Definitely looked like a diving sack to me there.

doesnt look like one to me....the ball moves on the QB dot before the DT and QB dots connect but but thats not the start of the fumble. i guess its a dot-ball representation of cocking the ball for a throw. the ball comes out when the dots connect which is how most sack/fumbles look

if you check a few plays before and after that play you can see how the ball shifts quickly before every pass attempt ( with or without a FF)

I think you're focusing on the FF too much. Watch my DT's dot, notice how his dot gets smaller signifying that he is no longer standing, and then the QB is tackled (and his dot becomes small as well...) Not to mention the tackle is from a decent distance.

He probably doesn't know how to make it easier to see falling dots in the sim yet.
