We beat several boosted teams last season and have already beat one this season, but I don't want there to be the chance to make excuses. If we lost for some reason to a boosted team we could just make the excuse "but they were boosted" - I don't want that possibility. We'll play any team after day 30.

pretty much. I mean last season we boosted the day we realized we were making our last level for the season. That was either 28 or 30, I forget.
Many players were being retired at the end of the season. Those that weren't missed out on maybe 30% of a level by doing so. Really not a big deal in the grand scheme when you are trying to ensure success in a competitive league.
