whats petty and stupid, is the people that have to go out of thier way to make an ass out of themselves, and push the limitations of the rules that are given to them, I am a 2nd generation military kid, everyone needs discipline, and how do you do that? buy punishment. and it will only push away the customers that feel they have to try as hard as they can be to be an internet bad boy, which is pretty fuckin lame.

As a second generation baby killer, does it get any easier?

personal attack, enjoy getting banned

I am really having trouble understanding why you guys dont get that. not being able to post in PF's you don't own and team forums is part of the PUNISHMENT

If the aim was to drive customers away from GLB, then certainly feel free to punish people this way. But its petty and stupid, and if anything will just drive more and more people away from the game.

You don't "own" the private forum--Goal Line Blitz does. Goal Line Blitz, in turn, gives you certain rights to, within reason, control what goes on within that forum. Goal Line Blitz has decided that they still have the right to limit who may and who may not post within your forum.

Paying 25 FP for a forum I think constitutes "owning" it.

Lease.

Exactly.

You both need to grab a brain and be open when talking in this forum. CP'd from Wiki on "Lease"

Under normal circumstances, owners of property are at liberty to do what they want with their property, including dealing with it or handing over possession of the property to a tenant for a limited period of time. However, if an owner has surrendered possession to another (ie the tenant) then any interference with the quiet enjoyment of the property by the tenant in lawful possession is itself unlawful.

So now your whole argument is worthless.

I've signed a couple of dozen leases in my life--I can promise you that each and every one had limits on what I could or could not do with the underlying property. And for your information, those limits EXPLICITELY addressed how I could or couldn't sublet the property itself.

the forum TOS applies to all forums

Private forum rules are a little more relaxed, but please note that Administrators may view your private forum at any time in order to protect the interests of the site and its users.

* You may talk about whatever you like in your private forum.
* General Rules regarding pornography, hate speech, racism, planning spam/hacking attempts, and illegal activity also apply to private forums.

Please learn to read before posting. It would have taken you eight words to see your seven word post become completely irrelevant.

You're crossing lines with that one. Though we've not always seen eye to eye, I used to think more of you than that.

Just to add another anecdote, I've been on GLB since April...so 8 months. I am a very regular contributor to the suggestions forum, as well as league forums. However in 8 months with 6-8 hours per day spent in the forums I've yet to have an issue with a moderator, or receive a ban...heck I haven't even been warned.

My point?

It is quite possible, really even easy, to get along with the leadership in the forums if you choose to.

I've been here since March, and I've never been banned or warned. I guess the extra month has given me added intellect, as I'm not naive enough to think that "I have no issues with moderators" correlates to "nobody ever has issues with them".

I'll summarize your point and your stay in GLB in one fell swoop:
It's easy to get along with someone who never disagrees with you.

Again, not the point of the thread. Public bans shouldn't carry over to private forums, as you must be INVITED there and since they are INVITED obviously the person who owns that forum does not have a problem with them posting there and that's the only opinion that should matter on the subject.

LOL...ahh we're at it again. I never stated that no one has issues with the mods. I simply stated that it is fairly easy to avoid such issues thus removing the problem at hand

However as for your opinion that private forums shouldn't be under the jurisdiction of public forum rules...well I would disagree. Although the private forums are exclusive to those invited, they are still part of the GLB website and still have certain terms and rules.

I think some of the issue now is that there aren't really different levels and types of suspensions/bans. Only different lengths. The better solution might be for a mod to be able to ban a user from just specific forums, all public forums or ALL Forums. These 3 different ban types could be used for different situations.

If someone posts content that is deemed inappropriate (porn, etc.) then the ALL Forum ban would be invoked

If someone is personally attacking others in a specific thread, but has generally not been a problem elsewhere in the forums, then a 'forum specific' ban could be invoked.

I think you get the idea. Anyhow, I don' believe that the system currently supports this type of regulation/discipline. However it could be a great addition to still allow the moderators to clean and manage the forums, and help them deal with people in a manner more fitting their offense.

It's a good thing you aren't subletting your property hey? All your doing is giving someone access to post, and also have the access to revoke speaking privileges or remove him/her all together.

So since you are obviously still renting your home (God help you), as a leaseholder you are granting access to any visitor to your home, whether it be family, friends, even pets, so since you insist on comparing this to having a lease, why can't a PF forum owner give access to who he wishes.

Still want to define buying FP to purchase a PF a lease? If so when does the lease for people's PF's expire?

So "to protect the interest of the site and its users" somehow translates to "the forum TOS, which the first part of the bold piece clearly states is relaxed in private forums, still applies in full to all forums"? Wow. You can read the letters, but how you're getting the words you're piecing together is beyond me.

What part of "forum rules are relaxed" implies that every single rule is enforced?

I think this thread has gone in circles enough.

We'll leave it for the admins to decide if they want to change the rule.

Suspended or forum banned users will still have access to team forums and private forums they have purchased.
