I don't think the best use of developers time is to implement a way for people to donate towards the twenty-five cents (or less) it costs to schedule a scrimmage.

People in this thread are so close minded.

First off saying friendlies don't matter, well your obviously a horrible owner (if you even have a team), they might not matter in stats, but having a game everyday as opposed to every 2 days won't earn me any complaints from the team.

Then the multiple account thing. I'm pretty sure they are capable of making a way that dummy accounts can't donate all their flex, you put a cap of say 25-50 FP per season per player. If someone from my team donated to me 25 FP to get a Scrimmage, I would tell him to find the team of his choice and I would challenge gladly.

I don't really need any FP donated, I boost 15 players every season and alot have CE, also on the wait list for Pee-Wee, but if somebody wanted to donate a 2 of their 102 FP or something similar, why complain, that is the type of Agent you need on a team, someone who cares about it.

Oh and someone mentioned what if the team goes under. Well they would obviously keep track whether in the team page or privately of who donated and what, and when the team gets sold to CPU the FP gets placed back since a CPU has no use for it.

Edit: +1 to this thread.

Let's say you can't use your free first 400 points in the fund

Easily solved. All free flex given out is "bound" to the player ID that was originally created. Only "purchased" flex can be donated. Now where is there an advantage gained? Each player can only boost 3x per season. Friendlies are non-XP games. No gain in it for anyone, except GLB. It's not like you can go out an buy a TV using flex. (Or can you? ) I, personally do not need flex, but I would surely like to give away maybe a few hundred a season to players on my team that did something "special" as a reward. Be it a game winning thing, or some extra help in running the team, or a friendly contest to generate more interest in the game, the forums and such.

Friendlies help design tactics and develop GLB's AI to be more diverse and fun to play.

Also, it could lead to intense competition. so I agree with this.

I was going to go off, until I saw it could only go towards friendlies...

Pardon my ignorance here, but please explain...

I know for a fact I would love a "team slush fund" of flex to allow for the running of some in game competitions, and giving flex to players as a reward. We all have the same rules to begin with, we can only boost 3x per season, and where is someone going to gain an advantage by getting more flex? There are dishonest people, yes, but why penalize the majority of good people because of those who can't be "moral". I say hell yeah to a team flex account, and it can only be controlled by the owner and one GM. No limitations as to how the flex can be used either. Friendlies, gifts, whatever. The only one who can possibly gain financially by this is GLB, through the sale of more flex. It is 100% optional if you choose to donate to the "bank", so where is the risk?

Nobody is going to buy anymore points to donate into a stupid team bank, talk of a waste of money.

what is the point of this?

why not? you can test something you heard about from another OC/DC if you want. its mainly for people who have LEFTOVER FLEX POINTS AND DONT PLAN TO RETIRE ANYONE SO THEY WANT TO DONATE TO THEIR TEAM

i see how you say it can be abused, but like mbking said, its only for friendlies. who cares? and keep track of teams that get like 15+ donations and schedule a bunch of friendlies, then its probably abuse.
