this would save all recruiters a ton of time ... and save players from a ton of spam

For it to really fly would only need 2 colors. First would be a preset when all players are created and the second would be a different color for everyone to see and at the same time no contracts can be offered to the player. This way the honest people know who is available and the ones that will send a contract offer anyway wouldn't be spamming the player that isn't interested to begin with and that is why set to different color.

I didn't read the entire post so i don't know if this has been said.
Letter of Intent, or somthing of the like. It could be another function just like sending out contracts. You send the agreement and the player accepts or declines it. You could add a spot where the player accepting could click boxes. IE, if the player is 100% going to that team he could click that so he appears as commited to a team. If he likes the team but is unsure and wants to see how the team develops b4 he signs he could click that selection so he appears as commited but still possibly looking. Then you could simply leave everyone that hasn't signed that arrangment with an uncommited flag.
I think these should also be able to be signed even if a player is on a team. Maybe only if his contract expires that season though.
I think this is a very good idea and should be made active prior to this offseason.
This will make the lives of us crazy asses that make 50+ players very much easier. I look forward to this.

Ok, I'm gonna bump my own thread (something I am actually against- unless it's within limits such as once per every 2 or 3 days) ... but only because I truly believe this will help to make this game better and more streamlined. I also plan to edit the OP.

I firmly-believe this is something that would easily-streamline the whole " GLB Experience" ... therefore making it more-enjoyable for all.
Anyone see any serious probs with this idea?? Criticism welcomed... I'm jus tryin' to help make this game better any way I can...

Exactly ; not everyone on GLB is "waiting patiently" for contracts , and for that matter most free agent players don't even place marketplace ads or advertise in the free agent forums-(which I thought were supposed to be discontinued but apparently arent).
So therefore this feature (if utilized) would actually save GM's and Owners a lot of time (typing wasted pm's to agents asking for their player's contract, ect) The Agent could simply click a box and select a setting for their free-agent player(s).

for players who are going to be FA's but not really available to not be
spammed and it would be good for owners not to waste their time on
already taken players.

That is a good idea- If it isn't too hard to be implemented I would definately be in favor of it... ( again- lack of programming experience bites me in the ass)
Targeting searches based on the 3 color codes: Green, Yellow, Red. (not really much of an option to search red, but... just to have em all covered? or no red?) ( Green would obviously be most utilized... letting those who actually WANT contracts to get more offers)
Especially during this time of the season when people are recruiting like madmen.
*Edit* Why can't I get this darn box to go away.... everything below the -- is what I typed.... lol
