Just make a little confirmation box that explains whats going to happen and they need to click 'okay'

Can't you just put in your Free agent ad that you do not want any offers sent to you? Or better yet, not post an ad?

Changing colors, IMO, will do very little to eliminating unwanted offers, like the NGTH list does for suggestions.

If you could instead just turn off the "offer contract" link to your player, or add a "block contract offers" link, I think that might be a better way of handling it.

I guess that could work.

My friend had a closed build lvl 4 WR last offseason (he didn't post an ad) and he got 18 offers and about a dozen PM's.

I had a DE, no ad. Got an offer, which I rejected and responded with a PM. Had a plan for that DE already. Be nice to just flag the actual player (not talking about those who place ads with a plan already).

While the idea is good I'm not sure it makes epic status. I like the idea but think there are so many things that need to be better worked out instead. There are actually a couple on the front page now that could stand to be discussed in better depth that would improve game play and experience.

Don't worry, individual mods get to decide what ideas have merit and which don't now.

I don't know that this is an "epic" suggestion, in my definition. Good idea, easy to implement. Doesn't warrant a whole lot of "epic" discussion.

And in my definition, any good idea which would get pushed off the front page faster than anyone would read it deserves to be here more than anything else.

The 400-post threads will get noticed more than anything else. It's the small, yet very good ideas which will help the game which get missed in the shuffle.

Now quit complaining and get back on topic.

And just so I'm back on topic:

People with higher level players get spammed with contract offers no matter what. Hell, I had people on the Pushovers ask me to give 3-year contracts just so people would get the idea and stop spamming them towards the end of every season when it was getting closer to contracts being up.

Yeah, I had all that too with my lvl 4 CB and DE with no ad and closed build. But that's kind of my point, no matter what you do, what color you change something, people are still going to try to recruit you. I don't think you can ever stop the PMs, but you could stop the offers if you could block the link.

I think the change color thing is a great idea, for instance one of my players will permanently be on the team it's on. I could change that to red or whatever color to alert no trades, not signing, etc

I'm not complaining Jed. Don't be a troll. I think this should be stashed because there's nothing to add to it.

Or you could just sign a no trade contract. If you are on a team you are automatically not available thru free agency, if you sign a no trade, you can't be traded for.

And I could also change my color to green to alert people to my player being available, but my LB has a 3 year contract and a no trade clause, so he is not really available.

This suggestion is mostly for current free-agents waiting for their teams to be able to sign them, whether they are waiting to get on an expansion team or waiting to join a playoff team. It would have nothing to do with people under contract.

True, I was just showing a different spin on how the color changing idea could work. But nvm if it's going to go over people's heads.

Complaints

And where would you suggest it be stashed if not here?
